Eli's lungs weren't developed when he was born. At the conclusion of his birth he was taken to the neonatal intensive care unit with trouble breathing, or more directly, providing his body with oxygen. Our hope of it being just fluid in his lungs became ruled out and he began to worsen and was ultimate put on a ventilator. As of today, he made it off the ventilator by the time we had to leave the hotel (hospital) and has been able to stay off it with the help of a cpap machine with oxygen. We haven't gotten to hold him yet (going on day 5) and as our world kinda came apart over the last few days it's piecing itself back together slowly as the little guy keeps fighting (and winning). Sarah and I are going to leave here in a minute and drive over there and see him. I'm learning patience and the importance of my family as all Sarah and I can do is wait, pray and be thankful for our two sons. If I come back here a peaceful and abiding citizen of tigersx instead of a hate filled cursing bamtard, you'll know why.
