It's looking like Broderick Green will be eligible for this upcoming season, at least that's what they're hoping. I've always noticed that Coach Petrino has had to have one big running back. At Auburn he had Brandon Jacobs, even though he never utilized him. Then at Louisville, he had Michael Bush, now he's got Broderick.

I'm in Little Rock this week. Listening to the radio shows here it's hard to miss the hopeful optimism. Most think Arkansas is going to be better than anticipated.

I, too, am on that wagon. I expect your Hogs to be the surprise team of the West and to challenge LSU for the trip to Atlanta. If Mallet is half the QB your folks believe he is, it's a real possibility.

You are right about Petrino. Regardless of what you think of his character, he is a good coach. Jumbo's funny little quip will sting in about eight weeks.

Nothing really. My father-in-law is a Troy grad and lately, he's been talking shit about how bad Troy would beat Auburn. Last night, we got into it about Troy and how he agrees with Richard Shaughnessy (Strength coach/Troy) who said they'll go 10-2 at worst. My FIL said it will be 11-1 because they'll take Arkansas down easily. (He's serious by the way).

Now, I refuse to be hypocritical about the AU/Troy debate because Auburn simply will NOT play them. Steve Dennis, the Troy AD, was on our local radio show a couple of mornings ago and was very politically correct in his wording, but made it clear that both AU and UA have had an open invitation on the table for years and neither school will accept. Personally, I've wanted to see that as a regular game on our schedule for years but that's a debate for another thread.

I have nothing against Troy. I've lived within 40-50 miles of the campus all my life and pulled for them throughout that time. I'm just needing an Arky beat down to shut the FIL up.

I have been picking the piggies to win the West myself. Petrino with a good QB (which I think Mallett is), and some running backs will be able to outscore most everybody on their schedule. It's a good thing you guys invested in that HD Jumbotron a few years back, cause the scoreboard is gonna be full.

Tommy was a good coach ya'll had a rough season last year. I also agree that the piggies will be very tough this year. Troy will not be 11-2. I understand Shaughnessy (one of the best get back coaches in the country) being optimistic but he needs to get real.

Well, here's the deal. If you just take Athlon's preseason rankings and go by that, Troy plays 2 money games, Go Gayta and the Piggies. After that, the highest ranked team they play is #92. In fact the schedule includes: (Now, keep in mind there are 120 D1 teams)

Who has stated that SPuat is going to "suck hard" this season? I sure didn't. Y'all won't be undefeated during the regular season, but y'all won't suck...I'm going to say (9-3) or (10-2), that's being injury free. Now, if there are some key injuries or two, then the predictions go out the window.
