SEC Media Days: Auburn's Chizik has new agent in Birmingham's Russ CampbellPosted by Charles Goldberg -- Birmingham News July 24, 2009 10:43 AMCategories: Football, SEC Media DaysBernard Troncale/Birmingham NewsGene ChizikAuburn's new football coach, Gene Chizik, has changed agents. He's now represented by Russ Campbell of Birmingham, Campbell confirmed at SEC Media Days this morning.Campbell, an attorney at Balch and Bingham, also represents Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino, among others. Before Chizik landed the Auburn job last December, he was represented by perhaps the most famous agent in college football, Jimmy Sexton of Memphis. But Sexton did not participate in the discussions between Chizik and Auburn that led to Chizik leaving Iowa State for Auburn. Campbell said he started working with Chizik after he got to Auburn.Since his clients Tommy Tuberville and Phillip Fulmer left the SEC after last season, Sexton now represents four head football coaches in the league: Alabama's Nick Saban, Mississippi's Houston Nutt, South Carolina's Steve Spurrier and Tennessee's Lane Kiffin.
Campbell was Shula's agent as well. How fitting.
Jimmy Sexton is the Scott Boras of college football. The antichrist.
Damn, don't be hatin' on a playa. The man's just trying to get his money.
At the cost of his soul...
