June 1st weather

June 1st weather
« on: June 02, 2009, 03:30:30 AM »
So, how did you guys like this 90 degree weather on June the freakin' 1st? The thermostat on my porch had us at 93 degrees at 3 pm. I never thought at a 5:30 pm game on June 1st, I would have to be stressing the importance of hydrating to a bunch of 11 and 12 years.

If this is going to be a sign of how hot this summer is going to be, it might be time that I finally break down and get a pool installed. No wait I almost forgot, my brother just moved into a house that has a nice pool. Just call me "The Mooch".

I'm just glad we finally have some warm weather.  Spent a week in Destin in May and it never got over 8o degrees.

90 degrees is cool with me.  Just wait til August, Ranger.  100 degree temps will be the norm.

(Assumption alert) At least you all have A/C in your cars.  It wasn't a big deal for me the past few summers as I worked outside at a summer camp all day long.  This summer is going to be tough.

I'm sure we'll start hearing the anthropogenic global climate changers modifying their rhetoric again to call for action on the so-called 'Global Warming' crisis.

I love the hot weather myself as I enjoy riding the motorcycle when it's hot (I'm unapologetic about being a fair-weather rider).

That is just it, these types of temps we normally don't see until July or August around here. Normal high temps in North Alabama for the month of June is usually in the mid 80s.

My wife drove around without a/c in her car for much of last summer. It was her own fault though. The dealer had ordered the parts to get it fixed, she kept putting off taking it in before it started getting too hot. When we hit that string of 110+ heat indexes, she finally realized that driving with windows down in that kind of heat is not going to work.

The hot weather used to not bother me at all. I could be out in it all day. However, I find as I get older, and less active, I really don't like the hot stuff unless there is a pool nearby. I find myself looking forward to the fall even more.

The heat and humidity are our friends, they run the idjits back up north so they aren't here to contaminate things. I loooooove it. 1/2 an inch of snow every 10 years is fine by me.
