The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) with 37 others. The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and Democrats voted 321-105 in favor. Next it goes to the Senate for a vote and then on to "The Obama".

Some info. My comment will be emphasized of course.


See Section 6104(a), Section 6104(b)(5) and Section6104(b)(6) this bill also forms a congressional committee to study the feasibilty of making voluntary national service mandatory and how to implement such a law. How in the hell can you make volunteering mandatory?  Although the bill does not do this, they are setting up a committee to "study the feasibility" of such

"(5) The effect on the Nation, on those who serve, and on the families of those who serve, if all individuals in the United States were expected to perform national service or were required to perform a certain amount of national service.

(6) Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds."

And the services to be performed are of the government's choosing - faith=based activity is specifically excluded  The language was removed in this bill but added to HR 1444....Ok, can anyone say foundation for the Obama Youth Brigade?  I can't believe what the hell I am reading.

Prohibited activities under Section 7 are: Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization. Need to borrow some money from the fed to go to college???  Still paying back that college loan??? Better not be a member of a church!  Don't even think about preaching or taking a leadership role in a church run charity event whilst on the gubments clock!


So we are not even two months into this presidency and we have seen an unprecedented growth in the fed gov't, done more to usher in Socialism than ever before and have spent more than any other president by a long shot?  What pisses me off is that you still have stupid ass libtards and full retard sheeple that still think this guy and this congress is doing a good job!!!!!

Title I - Amendments to National and Community Service Act of 1990
Revises under the NCSA: (1) the School-Based and Community-Based Service-Learning programs and Higher Education Innovative Programs for Community Service, also known as Learn and Serve programs; (2) National Service Trust programs, also known as AmeriCorps; (3) the Civilian Community Corps Demonstration program; and (4) the Investment for Quality and Innovation program.

AmeriCorps....shudder.....I have had direct contact with kids that have come out of AmeriCorps into the Army. They are some of the most illetrate, uneducated, just plain poor kids you will ever see. Most of them are just so damn dumb, they can't help but be problem children in the real world.  And these were the 'smart' ones that made the decision somewhere along the way that they needed to get out of the trailer park/ghetto and this was the best way to do it. They either see the Army as the next gov't handout program or somewhere along the way in AmeriCrops they get pushed in the direction of the nearest Army recruiter.

Expresses the sense of Congress that the number of participants in approved national service positions should grow to 250,000 by 2014.

250,000 is not a really large number for a national program......just a payout those downtrodden and oppressed peoples that supported the Kenyan Jesus.

Directs the Corporation, to the extent practicable, to give special consideration to applications submitted by predominantly Black institutions, historically Black colleges and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, tribal colleges and universities, and community colleges serving predominantly minority populations.

Authorizes new Summer of Service programs under which students who will be entering grades 6 through 12 at the end of the summer and complete 100 hours of community-based service learning summer projects become eligible for an educational award of up to $500 from funds deposited in the National Service Trust. Permits the Corporation to increase the award to not more than $1,000 for economically disadvantaged participants. Allows participants to earn a maximum of two summer of service educational awards.

Lets see 100 hours of work for up to $500 of pay for all you little rich kids......surely you can find a job at the mall or flipping burgers for more then $5.00 an hour.

All you poor kids, you get $10.00 an hour.
