East Bound And Down
« on: February 19, 2009, 05:20:29 PM »
Came out of nowhere to bump out a close running between Flight Of The Conchords and It's Always Sunny as my favorite TV show. Fucking hilarious.

Will Ferrell produced it, so Kevin will hate it, but is by FAR the funniest show on TV at the moment.

It comes on HBO, and there's only been one episode so far. Seek it out and watch it.

I chuckled at the video, but if Flight of the Conchords didn't suck this year, East Bound and Down wouldn't hold a candle to it.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I was LOLing myself the entire show.

SPOILER ALERT! (Tiny Font Below)

The first episode ends with Kenny Powers whiplashing a topless girl (that is established earlier in the show as a whore with a bad case of the herp) off of his jet ski (that is established earlier as his last great possession) into a lake and then using the jet ski to slapshot water into her face. This scene lasts like 2 minutes and is funnier every second that passes.

Basically, it's just another guy doing the same schtick that Ferrell ran into the ground and with a slightly southern accent.

Hope I didn't disappoint by not finding this amusing in the least.

Dude. Please.  I like lots of stuff.

Godfather movies, CSI Miami (reruns only, don't have time for the actual series), my dog Tucker,  orange moon pies, mountain dew, Christmas, Mardi Gras parades, Rockband/Guitar Hero, sushi, playing golf, Raven Riley, Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction (but not so much Resovior Dogs), Al Pacino in Scarface and Dog Day Afternoon, Christmas Vacation movie, Jessie's girl and Stacy's mom, Miami Vice, The Sopranos, pumpkin ice cream, King Cake, my wife and kids, my best friend and his whole entire family, that little curve at the bottom of a woman's neck, meatloaf, pot roast, KISS, The Eagles and old school rap, rain on a tin roof....

But I don't like Will Ferrell's humor.  He should have shot himself in the face after Elf and done us all a favor.

that shit is gooooooood.  i've ate a variation called pumpkin "pie" ice cream which has chunks of snickerdoodle cookie (i.e. the pie crust) mixed in.

the above comes from various local ice cream/dairy producers in oregon.  don't know about the south.

ColdStone Creamery from a little after Halloween until mid-December.  Also available at Wal-Mart from Breyers at about the same time, but the Breyers quality isn't quite as good.

I enjoy all things pumpkin. Krystal had a pumpkin shake this year, but I couldn't make myself try it.
