Got A New CrackBerry...
« on: February 18, 2009, 08:43:51 AM »
Got the Storm yesterday.  Anyone else use, or have one of these?   Anything I should know or check out?  Besides a charging issue that I think I have resolved, it's a pretty nice upgrade at this point.

I haven't played with the Storm yet.  How are the apps compared to the iPhone?

What apps?  haha...   Seriously though....   iPhone is MUCH more established right now, but the blackberry seems to be picking up steam on that front.  It's kind of moving from snobby business to everyday user friendly more and more.   I actually considered doing the iPhone, but I didn't want to leave Verizon for AT&T service.

I'm liking it so far though...

Not yet, but I heard you can get a free one with a second purchase at Payless Shoe Store, so that's good.   :vn:

I got the LG Incite. Gave it to the wife. I then got the LG Vu. I just needed a phone to talk with. She really has enjoyed to other features the Incite has. But  after not being able to quickly answer calls, I gave it up. I don't text (over 40 and all) so why do I need all of the other stuff?

Got my parents the new Razors. They work great for them. It rings, they open and answer. Anything more than that and they will be in a ditch.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Bingo.  Same reason for me getting the LG Dare instead of an iPhone...it's touch screen and has some apps available...although the iPhone is still cooler.  But you can't beat "The Network", bitches.

Fuck the network, it's over rated.  I just got rid of my Blackberry Curve (job change, and they took my damn phone) and am on the AT&T network.  I haven't purchased a new phone yet, but I am probably going with the iPhone.  So suck it, bitches.  Oh yeah, it is going to suck, having to pay my own cell/internet bill now.

i've got the same phone for personal use.  i like it; though, touching the screen doesn't hold water to my itouch.

I own a touch as well.  The technology is light years ahead of the Dare's.  Pisses me off that Apple has to suck on the AT&T mushroom tip.

Agreed.  If the iPhone was at Verizon, I'd be toting one.  However, I'm getting used to the Storm and I'm starting to like it.  I'm not a games and goofy app guy though, so the Blackberry suits me.

I just decided today that I need to move on from my Q I've had for 4 years.

I think I'm gonna go iPhone.

Fucking AT&T and their monopoly...

Sprint's Data plan is $15/month vs. AT&T's $30 a month. That's TWICE as much...

Also, Sprint has 300 texts for $5 a month... AT&T's similar plan is only for 200 minutes. I average just under 300 a month, so that plan was pretty perfect for me. So I'm gonna have to upgrade to the $10 more plan to get 1500 (In other words I'll be using less than 20% of my allotted texts, but it's either that or pay even more for the 200 minute plan...).

So basically, my phone bill's gonna go up $25 a month to over $115 after taxes and stuff for basically the same service...

...but I get an iPhone...

I guess it's worth it...

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Why would you pay Sprint $115 and accept limitations on your usage?  I've got the "Everything Plan": unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data usage.  $99.00.

Reading comprehension...

He said his rate is going to go UP by $25 to a total of $115. Meaning his bill right now is $90.
