My dislike of the genre extends to the fanbase.

You sir have not spent enough time in Nashville to offset this thinking.  Tootsie's is tits!

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

The only quality time I spent in Nashville was at a BYOB titty flop.  The rest of that town can choke on its bolo ties and faux accents.

This is Brad's neck of the woods. I'm sure he's got some killer connections and there's no doubt some back stage passes would be part of the deal.  That's the way Brad rolls.

Brad?

Just so happens I'm from the same neck.  Missed BamaJam last year and will miss it again this year.  I'm gonna let them work out all the kinks before I attend one.  Rumor has it that it was quite "Woodstock-ish" last year, in terms of people, port-a-potties, and general debauchery.  Is that good or bad?  I don't know.

However, that guy Brad...he'll hook you up...he utilized his backstage pass last year to do lines off of Daryl Worley's lower abdomin.

He could have gone to his furniture store to do that in the back room for much less.

You used "kicks ass" and "good songs" in reference to country music.

At the very least that deserves time in the penalty box with the sound system cranking Tool's  "Schism"  the entire Ozzy and Metallica catalogs with some Van Halen, Led Zep and AC/DC interludes.

See. You named all the groups that were creative way back ( And I listen to all of them). There are very few NEW music acts that are creative today. The fact that country music usually tells a story, allows the artists to introduce creative ways to sing said songs. Some of it is the same ole, same ole. But more creative songs are coming out of country music than any other genre today.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

That is completely subjective and impossible to prove.

New country music is mostly Top 40's pop with a uniformly awful accent.

I'm in as long as we're not going to:

1) Watch a "new" country music concert/festival/musical performance of any kind;
2) Refrain in any way from inflicting our usual brand of damage on that town; and
3) Going to skip the titty flops.

I could not disagree with you more.

Country is the one genre that has gone to complete shit over the last 30 years.

Rap's working on it at a much more rapid pace of the last 10 years, but there are still a few decent acts out there.

As far as country released this century goes, Hank III, Avett Brothers, Drag The River, Shooter Jennings, and Old Crow Medicine Show are pretty much the only acts worth half a shit.

1) Watch a "new" country music concert/festival/musical performance of any kind;
Well you are gonna hear some of it but it will be closer to Molly Hatchet rather than Merle Haggard.

2) Refrain in any way from inflicting our usual brand of damage on that town; and
  As if I would refrain no matter where it is

3) Going to skip the titty flops.
Now you are just hurting my feelings with the lack of faith
