Sticks Music Festival

Think Whitney and I are gonna go.  Thinking about taking an RV so I have somewhere to pass out.  Anyone else making the trip?

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I realize that that's a huge deal to be in Auburn if you're into that kind of music.

I'm not.

Sure as shit am not $85 worth of into it.

Also, this kind of stuff is more what I associate the "other" university with.

For example:
Quote
You want to see and hear the hottest country stars and you don’t want to pay out-the-butt for it.
That’s why we bring the country stars to you, at a 2-day price around $80.00.*

You want to bring your own cooler in so you don’t have to drop a lot of dough on boos and waters. We’d feel the same way!! So that’s why we invite coolers in.

Damnit Howard, you didn't inform me it was country music...  Now I have to debate, drinking all day with shitty music... or not.

It's $85 to drink all day with shitty music. If it were free, I'd probably be in regardless. I'll just go to the Alpha Psi rodeo again instead.

The only way you could convince me to go to that was with a promise of banging Julianne Hough and Sara Evans at the same time -- provided Evans took a shower and washed all the bama cooties off her.

They started a deal down here (Enterprise) last summer called Bama Jam with a bunch of no names and some washed up bands.  I didn't go but I heard it was pretty well attended by the necks...meaning Brad was probably there.  They did have ZZ Top, which was the only band I was interested in just for old times sake.

This year, they're going to have Brooks & Dunn and of all peaople...Kid Rock.  I'm so not a country music fan but I would like to see B & D and I definitely want to see Kid Rock rip it up.

KR would definitely be worth it.  Saw him in Birmingham 4-5 years ago in a monsoon.  Best I can remember it was a hell of a show.

This is Brad's neck of the woods. I'm sure he's got some killer connections and there's no doubt some back stage passes would be part of the deal.  That's the way Brad rolls.

Brad?

Kid Rock sucks balls.  He is the only artist I know that can take two good songs, and merge them into one super shitty song.

Looks like one helluva line-up. Trace Adkins kicks ass. I didn't realize that Shenandoah was back together. Diamond Rio has a lot of good songs. Craig Morgan has really put out the hits in the last few years. Almost Home is one of my favorites. Rodney Atkins has some good ones. Of course Gretchen Wilson will get down. And if Sara Evans brings her small ass, she will be a good act.

I could do without a few of the others like Jason Michael Carroll. But overall, I think you will get your money's worth.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

You used "kicks ass" and "good songs" in reference to country music.

At the very least that deserves time in the penalty box with the sound system cranking Tool's  "Schism"  the entire Ozzy and Metallica catalogs with some Van Halen, Led Zep and AC/DC interludes.
