This is an odd situation because how can you want your president to fail?  I'm not going to buy into the "they hated Bush, so I'm going to hate Obama" game.  If you want Obama to seriously fail as bad as or worse than Bush, then you're asking for the United States to be in bad, bad shape in four years.  I have to disagree with Rush Limbaugh (which isn't exactly uncommon) concerning Barack Obama.  Sure, there are a few lifestyle amendments that may go against my beliefs, but if Obama's economic plans and foreign policies work to a T, I'm going to give him the props he deserves. 

I hope Rush (and anyone else) can understand that he needs to put his country first and his politics second.  There is the chance that the Republican ideology for certain subjects may be wrong.  There is the chance that a Democrat may be able to fix some problems.  Until we can get past this partisan bullshit, we aren't going to get any better as a country.

I don't necessarially think it needs to fail for four years. I hope it fails for at least two. That way, the Dems up for re-election in the house and senate will be removed from power and maybe the repub's can pick up some seats and maybe win back the majority.

I agree with him to a point. It's like socialism, until it fails, those who believe in it will never see the negatives. If the ONE just sputters along at an acceptable rate, we will continue our slow spiral down. If all goes to crap due to his librul policies, then maybe after a couple of years the conservative movement will get it's head out of its ass and take back over with the populace saying, "thank God."

But on the other hand, I do not want to see him fail so badly that it takes the US all the way to the bottom. It's a fine line. It's like watching a rival team with a friend on it. You want that friend to do well, but you still want them to lose. In this case, I want the team, the US, to win, but it's leading player to slip and slide in big piles of shit on a daily basis.

This is what infuriates me about Obama. He has promoted change his whole campiegn without giving us a plan on exactly HOW he is going to do it.

He started his dodging yesterday I believe. Now he is saying we can change this country...IF we all stand together. I can see the excuses coming now.

Another thing, I don't hate Obama and don't want him to fail. I hate his policies and there are a lot of things that I disagree with him on...but I felt the exact same about Clinton too. What I absolutely dispise is the sheer worship that this guy is recieving. People are stupid. I don't understand how people think that now Obama is President, everything is going to work out. I thin people are in for a BIG TIME dissapointment this next year. No matter who is president, gas is still going to cost the same, there are still going to be millions of people without jobs, the middle east is still going to be a cluster fuck, a gallon of milk is still going to cost $4 (or whatever it cost), and there are still crazy fucking people out there that hate us westerners and want to kill us all. What the fuck is going to change???

I don't get too worked up because we went through the same shit with Clinton (without the fucking worship). He was elected after Bush got a bad wrap and the Dems controlled congress. After 4 years, America realized that we needed to be more conservative so the Repubs starting getting seats back and Bush was elected. It is a pendulum that swings both ways. The pendulum has gone more left than I would like to see it, but in the end it will start heading back in the right direction...

I (like many partisan Republicans) am always loyal to my nation.  I am not loyal to this new administration.  I did not vote for them and will not give them any benefit of the doubt.  I will not support a Democrat socialist as long as they embrace socialism as an ideology.  They may call it by another name but that's exactly what they stand for and I will not support it.

Shall I go so far as to quote from the Hildebeast herself:

"I'm sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration."

Mr Obama has told Republicans in Washington to stop listening to the right-wing talk show host Rush Limbaugh, risking a new culture war with conservative voters.

His exhortation came as he enraged other Republicans by reversing George W Bush's ban on funding international aid to charities that perform or provide information about abortions.

After less than a week in office, Mr Obama's presidency is already encountering the very partisan bickering he had pledged to stamp out during his first 100 days.

He faces mounting criticism over his $825 billion economic stimulus plan, from Republican leaders who say the legislation has been drawn up without the input which Mr Obama had promised to allow them.

The president responded with a clear signal that he is prepared to ram the bill through without the bipartisan consensus he promised to construct, telling Republican leaders from the House of Representatives: "I won. I'm the president."

He then told them to break free of the confrontational mindset epitomised by Mr Limbaugh, the highest paid talk show host in America. "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," Mr Obama said.

His comments followed a blunt attack on him by Mr Limbaugh, who declared on air that he hoped Mr Obama would fail as president because otherwise it will usher in socialism.
