I love to gamble. But I have learned that it is not in my bankaccounts best interest to put my money on bad bets. That means that when I stand up and walk away from the poker tables I do not stop at the slots or any of the carnival games (craps Black Jack, etc) They offer the chance to win huge sums of money but the odds are tilted against you so hard that you are going to lose money the biggest percentage of the time. Thats why the casinos and Bingo-tracks love them.
Thats the same thing with this coaching hire, it may work but intelligent money refuses to take the bet because it has "sucker" written all over it. Intelligent money and fans are just moving on.
We support Auburn and we believe that the only way to man up and do what needs doing is to refuse to accept or give in to the turds that did this too the university.

I hate to do this.  I REALLY do.  But, I think it has to be asked.  How much money do you contribute to Auburn?  How much is specifically given to Auburn football?

Positives?  He's hired good assistant coaches.  Is he surrounding himself with talented coaches because he doesn't know how to hold a jock strap?  I don't know.  I'll have that answer next November. 

He S-U-C-K-E-D at Iowa State.  Sure, but somehow, he got the Auburn job.  All signs and trends point to Chizik being a total failure at Auburn.  But as I've said before, I'm not going to sit around and turn all positives into negatives and say, "Well, since that Jacobs is moron, I know that Chizik will fail eventually!"  Fuck that you don't know that.  You can predict that, but you don't know shit.  I'm going to keep this philosophy - I'll wait until Gene Chizik personally fucks up while head coach at Auburn to be a doom and gloomer.  For now, it's a lot more fun and exciting to say things like, "I like how Chizik hired Gus Malzahn."

Damn, Prowler, how else are you supposed to judge the ability of a coach?  You judge him based on whether the team improves under his direction.  You can look at offensive numbers, defensive numbers and recruiting.  You can also look at wins. 

Under Chizik, the offense declined, the defense declined, recruiting declined.  Wins declined. 

Every other coach interviewed by Jacobs had a better resume than Chizik.

I fucking RESENT being called knuckledragging because I don't live in la-la land with you.  I'm smart enough to look at the situation, make my own evaluation and my own determination.

We have some huggers who point to Nutt's success at Ole Miss this year and wonder why in the fuck did we run off a good Christian coach like that. Lets compare records in say 5 years and see who's ass is the dirtiest.

What I see in Coach Chizik is that he is a Great Coach, has the drive and knows what it takes to be successful, knows how to and has the finiancial backing to surround himself with Great Coaches and Really Good to Great Recruiters, he has his priorities straight, he was very to extremely successful while he was at Auburn and Texas, he has High School relationships all over the South (including Texas), he's a motiviator, he has a "Blue Print", and that "Blue Print" includes Bro. Chette.

Uhhhh, offense declined and defense declined (don't worry that ISU graduated nearly both sides after Coach Chizik's first year and started an unexperienced player at nearly every position last year)

Uhhhh, recruiting declined (Rankings by Rivals....'03/46th, '04/42nd, '05/58th, '06/63rd, '07/60th (split recruiting class), '08/62nd (Coach Chizik's first full class))

Uhhhh, 5-19 (Dan McCarney was ISU's most successful HC.  So successful, that he was fired and landed a coaching job as UF's Defensive Line coach)

I would have taken anyone last year as long as we were rid of Nutt.
We got shit in a swinging bucket lucky when we got Petrino. He didn't have a good first year, but he was using Nutt's players. Nutt knew when to bail.
Nutt's first year at Arkansas was similar to his first year at Ole Miss. He inherited some good players. Just wait until he gets his own at Ole Miss. The honeymoon will be over. May be the perfect job for him. Win half your games and go to a shitty lil bowl game most years and the Rebs will be happy. We wanted more.
I'm all for giving Petrino a few years to get his players in place. Given his history, he may bail before then. He will leave the place in better shape than he found it, though.
I don't think we would have hired Chizik. He didn't go to school at Fayetteville. Nutt did for a while before he drug up. I don't know why we hired his ass in the first place.
I don't know much about Chizik, but I hope yall can him (or any other coach) if he doesn't produce in 3-4-5 years and not get mired down in mediocrity like we did.
