Inauguration of The ONE most expensive ever
« on: January 15, 2009, 04:19:03 PM »
I attended President Bush's second inauguration back in January of 2005 and I recall hearing the left-wing media bleating about how outrageously expensive it was along with offering 'helpful suggestions' for a better use of the $42,300,000.00 (buying new bullet resistant vests for the troops or using it to help child education programs or some charity for the homeless...etc.).  The beat went on and on as to how expensive this inauguration was compared to Bubba who "only" spent $33,000,000.00 for his inauguration.

So I read this article today (ironically in a UK online paper because no domestic MSM source will report it) about The ONE's inauguration will cost $150,000,000.00 AND UP!

Now, wait just a cotton-picking minute here!  Where the fuck are the same folks who bitched about Bush's inauguration to bitch about this massive expense eclipsing Bush's completely!?  And with the economy in such 'terrible shape'; how can The Obama even justify spending this much anyway!?

Sure there's supposed to be record attendance at the event but The ONE could take the high (and green) road and tell his supporters to stay home and watch it on TV.  I think he ought to use this money to fund the Reverend Hosea Williams Feed the Homeless program right here in Atlanta!

This is an excerpt from The Guardian online, as usual, all emphasis is my own:

Quote
Obama's inauguration set to be the most expensive in US history

The $150m (£102m) cost of the celebration will dwarf the amount spent on George Bush's inauguration in 2005

President Barack Obama's inauguration next week is set to be the most expensive ever, predicted to reach over $150m (£102m). This dwarfs the $42.3m spent on George Bush's inauguration in 2005 and the $33m spent on Bill Clinton's in 1993.

Rush has been referring to it as the "Immaculate Inauguration" or the "Immaculation" for short...I nearly drove off the road laughing at that comment this afternoon.
