I've never said gran may not be waiting for the right job. He may very well be. People on another board were saying that gran was basically the god of rb coaches. I differed. Have said repeatedly he is a good coach and a very good recruiter.

What I have said is that if he were the absolute shit that some have tried to make him out to be, something would have opened up for him. He wouldn't be there long waiting for something.

Your cowher analogies are just plain stupid. The guy won a super fucking bowl as a head coach. Gran is a rb coach. Cowher has more reason to bide his time and not rush into a job.

Gran was an rb coach on a staff that went up in flames. If he's cherry picking too hard he must be well off financially from his time on the plains.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a job soon.

It is in no way a reflection on his performance or lack thereof. There could be a hundred different explanations for the fact that he hasn't taken (or so far as anyone can ascertain really even looked for) a job.

Maybe Coach Gran is waiting for an Offensive Coordinator job to open up? He's coached his RBs in 4-5 different styles of offenses....I would've liked to seen Coach Gran as the OC over Fucksinger or Nallsminger. I'm kinda surprised that he hasn't landed the job at Iowa State, but he probably realizes that ISU is a grave yard right now. Like it was stated before, I would be highly surprised if he isn't coaching somewhere next year. I just think that Coach Gran is wanting a coaching job at a program that's similar to the Tennessee job, meaning the type of prestige that Tenn. is. Where ever he lands, I'll be pulling for him.

I'll admit my original post was a bit over the top. It was more in response to the deification some seem to have with gran as a rb coach. I didn't and don't see it. The guy is good and a really good recruiter. Like I said, we'll be fine without him.

I'd be surprised if he is as successful at UT afa producing big name backs, but if he is I'll take my hat off to him.
