I'm sure Alabama enjoyed its view just fineBy Matt Hinton The Doc was in the Superdome this afternoon for the Saints' appropriately rousing/disappointing finale against the Carolina Panthers. Also taking in the game was a large contingent of Utah Utes and family, in town for Friday's Sugar Bowl, with primo seats just a few feet from the Carolina bench:Shortly after kickoff, a stream of Alabama players in their crimson swag jackets entered the stadium, too -- though their view wasn't quite as impressive:Bama players appeared to be scattered throughout the "Terrace" level, mostly within the last dozen or so rows from the very, very top of the Dome. These particular guys seemed to be enjoying their cheap seats and overpriced concession stand hot dogs with the plebes until I pointed out where Utah was watching the game. Their slightly annoyed response: "Figures."Either officials wanted the teams as far from one another as possible, or ex-Utes and current Panther teammates Steve Smith, Jordan Gross and Maake Kemoeatu pulled some strings for the old alma mater when they heard they'd be in the building; ex-Crimson Tide safety Roman Harper, apparently, doesn't have the same kind of pull with his bosses in New Orleans. Maybe if Roman had a prayer of covering, say, Steve Smith once in a while, he could throw his weight around a little more.
Where did Andre sit???...oh... nevermind....
