While Iowa St pondered ways to out-do Auburn this offseason, they finally had the epiphany they needed to win the war. Instead of making a run at Tommy Tuberville or any of the coaching assistants that Auburn is trying to get, they decided to steal away the "Most Racist School in the NCAA" title from Plantation University. Iowa St has hired Paul Rhoads, former defensive coordinator of Auburn, as its new head coach. However, the fact that he was once an Auburn coach didn't factor into the decision. The number 1 criteria that Rhoads met was this: "He was white.""He was white," stated President Geoffroy. "We didn't even consider a black candidate. We've heard from the media and the ESPNs and the Auburn alumni that black coaches only get the worst jobs in the country. Well, we figured we aren't a bad job, so we didn't consider them." When asked about the interview process, the president seemed even more bigoted. "We weighed out options with the interviews. We saw how Auburn was lambasted for interviewing a black head coach and then not hiring him. They were branded racists. We figured we would just skip out on that turmoil and hire the candidate we wanted," the president said. The university doesn't expect any backlash from the national media. Without interviewing a black candidate, there will be very little to discuss as was the case with Alabama in 2007, Tennessee in 2008, and the Texas decision for Will Muschamp in 2008.
