Chizik has rallied the troops and quieted most of the naysayers, but don't go pledging allegiance to him as the new King of the SEC.
I'm 100% behind Chizik, and I'm all for celebrating the accomplishments he's had recently. Showing the state that he's here to be a relentless recruiter has gotten me pumped up for the future, but that might be the homer in me. What exactly has Chizik done so far? Kept Eltoro Freeman - the kid who has been balls-to-the-walls Auburn for three years now? Kept Ontarrio McCalleb - a JUCO running back who also has seemed wholeheartedly committed to Auburn?
Chizik isn't lazy. We can scratch that fear off the list. He's not scaring away current commits. We can scratch that fear off the list.
As for anything special, Chizik has yet to impress. He hasn't hired a single assistant. He hasn't swayed an SEC coveted prospect to commit to us. He hasn't gotten back those that decommitted.
There's a lot to be seen from Chizik.
