Honestly man, if you sit back and chill for two seconds, the only people being "cheesedicks" would be people booing Chizik for taking an opportunity like this presented to him.

Booing Chizik doesn't accomplish squat.  Serioulsy.  Now, if you happen to have some C4 to stick on a Jay Jacobs carrying aircraft... I'm with you brother...

My guess is that there may be plenty of time to hate the man in the upcoming years.

Absolutely. Why go through 2 years of hate in a day and a half. That's just being wasteful in my opinion.

I'm sorry, but I have never been so pissed at Auburn in my life. I keep holding out hope that if the backlash is deafening they will have no choice but to acknowledge it and do something to make this right.

I've had over 24 hours and a night of sleep to get over the knee-jerk reactionary shock, and I'm more pissed now than I was when I heard the news yesterday morning.

And by the way, I see the merit to the "Don't hate the man, hate the man who hired the man" mantra, I truely do.

But I'm sorry, I hate the man. I hate the man for leaving us for a completely lateral move to Texas and saying "You can never win a championship at Auburn".

I didn't want Muschamp for this reason either, but at least A) He was going to be HC in waiting, B) He handled the transfer a bit more graciously, and C) At least he's a hot name right now that could have possibly held on to some recruits.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

It should be the first fucking question at his phony closed press conference.

You know, it IS possible (just playing devils advocate here) that he said that because he believed the same people we all want to see ousted would stand in the way.   He might have been frustrated with the whole situation with Jay Jacobs, or Lowder as well.

I think David Marsh, Tommy Tuberville, Will Muschamp and others that have left Auburn after face to face meetings with that clown, might agree.

Who knows...   I don't.

Chad, I am pissed as hell also. Jacobs has just screwed up this situation even more. Yet, as others have pointed out, that is not Chizik's fault. He is our coach now, whether we like it or not. I am hearing some people even hoping he fails so Jacobs can lose his job. Geez, the players really deserve that.

Somebody at AUN even started a thread to boycott the A-day game. That was pretty stupid also. It is not like we have been filling up the stands for the A-day games before, so how would boycotting that send a message to the PTBs at Auburn? All it would do is make us look like a bunch of turds and UT fans that abandon their team when things are not going so good. There are other ways to express our anger with Jacobs and Lowder instead of punishing the coaches and players.

I have already e-mailed the governor's office and maybe if every Auburn fan that is disgusted would do the same, just maybe Riley will start nosing around the Auburn BOT more. It would be nice if every Auburn board would encourage their members to do this.

I'd tell Riley to show his support for the university by doing more than just showing up in the locker room after a big win.

While I don't have a dog in this hunt, I do want to question the statement "You can never win a championship at Auburn" if he said that no way in hell he should be given the keys to your castle. That sounds a lot like a statement from a recent former coach here in Razorback land.

To say the news stunned me would be a giant understatement. Auburn fans deserve better but maybe it will turn out better than it seems right now.

How much support from the majority of fans does Jacobs have now?

That is lower than I would have guessed, you figure 10 percent of the people would support anyone no matter what. Man I hope this turns out okay.

To be fair, the breakdown is more like 85% people are capable of rational thought and see this as the epic tragedy that it is, and 15% know it deep down but outwardly are trying to pretend like everything's sunshine & roses. It is the official party line to just shut up and eat the shit-sandwich our AD just served us and grin the whole time exposing the shit smeared all in your teeth.

What I just can't grasp is how Jacobs could do this KNOWING the firestorm of controversy that would rain down on him.  He couldn't possibly make this hire thinking the Auburn fanbase would look at it and go, "Wow, Gene Chizik.  What a great darkhorse candidate.  Yeah, this could work...what a great hire JJ.  You're a jeenyus, dude."

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

This convinces me of two things.

1)  Jay Jacobs is a complete dumbass.

&

2) Jay Jacobs is stepping and fetching for someone else.

I hate what my University has become!

No, no, you don't understand.

You're not a true Auburn man unless you blindly accept what your University has become and ask no questions. Any resistance means you're truly a bammer in disguise.  :taunt:
