I just read all I need to know... all hail Sir Charles!!

Quote
Gill’s name first surfaced in connection with the Auburn job when former NBA great Charles Barkley wholeheartedly endorsed him in a radio interview last week.

GOD DAMN IT!!!!! IF Auburn doesn't hire Turner Gill.....I'm gonna be fuckin pissed.  If they hire him...then handcuff him, then Auburn/The Gov. needs to fire ALL of the Big Money MUTHA FUCKERS, and the Jays. If it takes my beloved Auburn team getting their teeth kicked down their throats for a few years, b/c TPTB royally fucked the pooch, then I'd have no problem suffering through those years....It'd Suck, but if Auburn comes out better in the end, then it would be worth it.

War "MUTHA FUCKIN" EaGill!!!!!!!!

I have a very bad feeling about this and i think the new HC will be Houston Nutt. May God have mercy on us

Close.  AU's new HC will be Danny Nutt.  As RB coach, and up until his latest bwain bweed - that he never used any "Sick Time' for - he taught DMac and Felix, taught them everything they know, including their speed.  He has lots of coaching experience.  Hell, as late as this year's OM/LSU game, he was coaching up a storm.  He'd be a great "Get" for AU.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Sell us on Gary Patterson Kaos....

It's an easy sell, hoss.

Five ten-win seasons in the last seven.

Before he took over as HC, TCU had one ten-win season since 1938.  That was the season he was assistant HC to Fran and obviously carried that whiny fuck -- and made him a rich man.

In all eight of Patterson's seasons as head coach, TCU scored more points per season than all but the three best of Tuberville's ten.

In his first nine years, Tuberville's teams allowed an average of 16 points per game.

In his first seven years, Patterson's teams allowed 20 points per game.

Patterson beat Oklahoma in 2005, Texas Tech in 2006, Stanford (who beat USC) in 2007, Vandy in 2003, Louisville in 2003 and 2004.  He's played in big games.  Lost some, but won most.

He's had ONE losing season in his career.  Followed that with back-to-back ten-win seasons.

Been invited to eight bowls in nine years.

Four conference titles.

And he's a defense-first coach.  Was TCUs defensive coordinator 1998-2000.  Team allowed an average of 16 ppg under Patterson.

Helped recruit LaDanian (I think).

Was an assistant at ten different schools, learning the ropes, before he got the TCU head job when Fran left.

Four times in the Top 25 final rankings -- at TCfuckingU

Was offered $2m a year by Minnesota to take their HC job. Turned it down to stay at TCU for half the salary. TCU went 10-2 this season.

His resume is at least as good as Meyer's -- who was at flipping Utah when he came to UF.

I agree, but for the love of Christ, can't we hire a coach before 2010?

I thought that was you.

You posted a link a while back.

Good luck with the coaching search, seriously. I'll be surprised if Auburn doesn't land a very good one.
Start a new streak next year.... Buck Fama.

Thank the good Lord you guys upped Houston Nutt's ante.  I think half of the AU fanbase would have stormed the gates if the Right Reverend and his goofy entourage showed up in Auburn.

He did do a good job with Ole Miss this season, but he's just as likely to yank a 4-7 record out of his ass next year while he sends photos of himself in Victoria's Secret lingere to Madeline Albright.

As an OM fan, I'm glad Boone paid up and kept Nutt. He'll typically keep OM in bowls. He has a decent (not great) shot of getting OM to Atlanta (not Peach, either) and will likely offest that with a 4-8 season along the way.

His track record at Arkansas was better than anything OM has seen since I was born. I'll be happy if he repeats it at OM.

If I were an Auburn fan, I'd agree with you. Auburn has done better lately and should damn sure expect better if they fired (resigned, whatever) Tuberville.
