Sell us on Gary Patterson Kaos....
It's an easy sell, hoss.
Five ten-win seasons in the last seven.
Before he took over as HC, TCU had one ten-win season since 1938. That was the season he was assistant HC to Fran and obviously carried that whiny fuck -- and made him a rich man.
In all eight of Patterson's seasons as head coach, TCU scored more points per season than all but the three best of Tuberville's ten.
In his first nine years, Tuberville's teams allowed an average of 16 points per game.
In his first seven years, Patterson's teams allowed 20 points per game.
Patterson beat Oklahoma in 2005, Texas Tech in 2006, Stanford (who beat USC) in 2007, Vandy in 2003, Louisville in 2003 and 2004. He's played in big games. Lost some, but won most.
He's had ONE losing season in his career. Followed that with back-to-back ten-win seasons.
Been invited to eight bowls in nine years.
Four conference titles.
And he's a defense-first coach. Was TCUs defensive coordinator 1998-2000. Team allowed an average of 16 ppg under Patterson.
Helped recruit LaDanian (I think).
Was an assistant at ten different schools, learning the ropes, before he got the TCU head job when Fran left.
Four times in the Top 25 final rankings -- at TCfuckingU
Was offered $2m a year by Minnesota to take their HC job. Turned it down to stay at TCU for half the salary. TCU went 10-2 this season.
His resume is at least as good as Meyer's -- who was at flipping Utah when he came to UF.
