You're missing the point.  It doesn't matter if it's a "rule" or not, it FAILS the test of logic.

You don't vote a guy first team and then vote the player you passed over to give him that recognition as Player of the Year.  If they played different positions, maybe you'd have something.  But Green was first team. Whoolio was second.
