I'd love to see either of these guys as assistants. Well, Nix as OC. Garner only if Rhoads leaves us. But, they'd better not be serious HC candidates...

Auburn interviews Rodney Garner; Patrick Nix next; (now with lobby updates)

NEW YORK -- Auburn interviewed Georgia assistant head coach and former Auburn player and assistant Rodney Garner on Sunday as the Tigers look for a head coach they can call their own.

Former Auburn quarterback Patrick Nix will be interviewed today or Tuesday.

Garner coached at Auburn from 1990-95, coached at Tennessee from 1996-97 and has been at Georgia ever since. He coaches defense, but he's a master recruiter. He's Georgia's recruiting coordinator.

Nix is the offensive coordinator for the University of Miami. Nix played at Auburn from 1992-95. His coaching stops include Georgia Tech, where he was from 2002-2006.

That's the headlines, but we're sitting in the Waldorf lobby again looking for more...

Listen I like Pat Nix but as our OC, why? Let him learn the ropes in Miami, they haven't been exactly tearing up the league. Rodney Garner DC why? Was Georgias defense all that stunning this year.  I just seems to me to be a bama homer move. We are hiring them because they are former Auburn Grads, rather than their abilities, how'd that go for uat when they tried that?

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I totally agree.  Maybe we are just giving them interviews to make them feel like they have a shot.  Cause if this is where our open checkbook, coaching search has gotten us, then we're FUCKED.

Courtesy interviews...nothing more.  I think it's even come out that Phillip has acknowledged that.  I think Gill is a serious candidate, still Patterson also as I've said before, but I think target ONE is Muschamp.  You've got to admit, nobody can say we haven't interviewed a wide variety of candidates...and well....that's the point.
