Patrino resigns from Atl, will coach Arky

I was at LSU TT's first year when he faked the FG and got the TD.

It was glorious.

I am still waiting for more fireworks like that. Granted, he has more talent now, but I'm sure most of us think that we are as close to three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust as we need to be.

I really don't have a dog (or pig) in this hunt; I'm just happy that they did not get Butch Davis from the Tarheels who I heard they were courtin'. Too bad for the sorry-ass "Dirty Birds".

Rome was on Blank's ass yesterday (Petrino's ass well, but made some strong points about Blank). Said that he's too good a business man to have whiffed on Vick and Petrino. Said that Blank must have not wanted to know about Vick since a cursory look would have revealed some of his activities.

I think he had to know about most of the shit Vick did, but maybe not with the dogfighting. He probably just turned a deaf ear to it all. They've said he's too much of a father figure and wants to coddle the players instead of discipline and guide them. Just watch his interactions with the players on the sidelines. He'd rather pat them on the ass then tell them to do their fucking job. He's about to pay for it....he's doing all these renovations to the Dome within the next 10 years and his ass is going to be in debt because no one is going to those games.

Wes, I agree the Vick wiff cost the team a millions of dollars. The future of the franchise depends on the next coaching hire coupled with a great decision at the qb position

Have you guys seen the way ESPN has unloaded on Petrino the last few days? They've called everything but a white man. Salsbury even went on the air telling recruits they shouldn't talk to him and shouldn't go to Arkansas. I haven't decided If I am particularly excited about the hire or not, but I definitely find their reaction to it interesting.

You must be ONLY watching ESPN. Fox Sports, Best Damn, the morning shows, all of them are calling him a weasel. It's not going to be easy for him, no matter how good on the x's and o's he is.

I think he's even more loathed right now than Saban....and that's not easy.
