Thread Gets Too Real

I'm going to try and find a link to back this up, but this is easily the most fucked up thread on a message board in the history of the internet.   

The cliff notes -

A guy who had been an attention whore on a bodybuilding message board decides to post about how he feels suicidal.  The board pretty much laughed at him and told him to go ahead and do it.  Well, the guy posts a link to Justintv that has a live shot from his webcam.  The guy purposefully ODs and falls over.  The board watches him and posts comment and comment laughing at him.  They say that it's fake and that he's just taking a nap.  After a while, he never moves.  The board still posts comments making fun of him.  After what I guess was a few hours, someone called the cops.  On the webcam, the cops come in and try to wake him up, and he doesn't move.  The cops turn off the webcam.  Turns out, the kid committed suicide and died on camera with a bunch of Joes making fun of him. 

Talk about a Debbie Downer, I guess.

it kinda sounds like he had his mind made up before the encouragement. either way, its a pretty sad situation for his family. of course they are going to be pissed off at the people that laughed and joked about it, but they need to also think that nobody on a message board forced those pills down his throat.

Teh Intarwebz is a cold-hearted beast.

Ours is a bit of an exception to the rule, since most of us actually know eachother, but in a completely anonymous environment, looking to a message board to talk you off the ledge is like looking to a cow to convince you to eat a burger.
