Look at the team stats between Arkansas and Kansas.  Go on, take a good hard look.
Now tell me why Bill Self is trying to get the ball to Hunter Dickinson for a three pointer inside a minute left to play.

I'm not overly confident about our chances against Creighton. You get a much more disciplined opponent same as you would UCONN or Xavier. I would rather play St.John's because it seems our team relishes playing opponents that we aren't expected to beat because of this built-in perception or need to pretend that we are the scappy unfortunate underdogs left on the side of the road to fend for itself...like neighboring Alabama State.



Our guys play hard when it matters to them as witnessed by the four that mattered most; Duke,
Florida, Alabama in Neville and to some degree Tennessee where free throw misses and sloppy ball handling sunk us in the SEC Championship.

Had to laugh when Tahaad spotted an open Pearl or yelled at the television when Chad pulled a State player to the floor. And just an observation but I think Johni has better form from the stripe than Shaquille O'Neal.


I stepped off a ladder onto the top of my foot about 4 months ago. Chris Moore will not be an asset moving forward. Feet don't respond well to such awkward abuse. Count him out.

Some minor bracket damage, but nothing that will impact me past the Sweet 16 so far.

As for our guys, they looked like their old confident selves:  felt out the opponent, knew they were much better/athletic and lolled around playing trick ball before tightening up and pulling away.

Odd for a tourney game to be a "get right" game, but we needed that one before we square up with Creighton Saturday.

"About the only positive is that we won the game. That’s about it,” said Pearl. “It was embarrassing, honestly. To come out in an NCAA Tournament game with that energy and that effort, that’s why we lost last year. We’ve got to be so much frickin’ better than we are right now.”

Pearl singled out both Johni Broome and Chad Baker-Mazara for their poor effort. Broome had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, but had just one assist, no blocked shots and turned the ball over three times. He was also just 4 of 9 on free throws.

Baker-Mazara had five points on 1 of 9 shooting along with two rebounds, three assists and two turnovers.

“Johni and Chad have to be better. They have to be better in all aspects of the game,” said Pearl. “And if they’re not, we will not win. I would imagine that Coach is going to challenge them really hard right now because they just didn’t bring it tonight, and I have no idea why. No idea.”

Creighton is a very skrong opponent.
A@M got 24 offensive rebounds to our 9 at their place and the favorites in the bottom half of our bracket can all ball including the shamed but improved Carolina.
Need to WTF up.
