They are still good friends, but the influence ended at Briarcrest and Springdale with the "innovative" HUNH when the HUNH was a big thing in HS. They seem to have very different in game play calling philosophies now as the game progresses. I still don't like the similarity of running a 2 yard draw on 3rd and 14.

I'd take DG in a minute though.

I'd take DG in a minute though.

From what I saw this year, it looked like U Free went to the HUNH on the occasional drive where we go things rolling for a couple of plays.  Certainly wasn't a staple of the offense.  But then, I don't know how much of this was actually his offense, and how much Phillip Monkeytown was running the show.

Be careful what you wish for.  For every incredible run where he shakes off a blitzing LB or trucks a safety, you have to put up with 3 or 4 off-target passes or bad reads that make you wonder wtf he is thinking.  Also, I've never seen a college football player who looks like he is having less fun on the field.  May eat these words down the road, but currently not really concerned whether he enters the portal or not.

I would be thrilled to find a couple of game changers like Derrick and Marlon over the ever growing egos of a couple of wide receivers that are stringing everybody along in a bidding war.
Get us a couple of edge rushers and we will automatically improve our deficit in the secondary.

Add a veteran dual threat guy and find big uglies and talented mobile types on both sides for close quarter combat.
That's how we can win in 2024.

70 receptions almost doubles the number of catches by normal standards. This guy can contribute immediately.

if you watch his film, he actually gets separation and catches the ball....yes - against D1 competition. That is more than what we have now. Even if the dude is in the slot 70% of the time, dude is an experienced utility WR. Yes, please.
