Some doofus on over on Tigerdroppings said this was a calculated move by Saban to exhibit that the two backups were significantly worse than Milroe.  Claims that Saban did the same thing at LSU with Marcus Randall, Matt Mauck and one of the Clausen kids.

Agree. So Ree's leaves the Irish and it turns out he's no QB whisperer. All three QB's stare down receivers like they were able to do in high school.

I have been overly critical of Thorne the first 3 games, which is disingenuous on my part when considering all the factors, but one thing I have sang his praises on is that I see him actively working through progressions with sound mechanics when he has time in the pocket to do so.  I saw him looking for his 3rd option on more than 1 occasion in the first 1/4 of the season.

Definitely were just trying to be cute and get chemistry down with receivers.  I didn't feel like it was going to sway the end result, so I was okay with it.
