Scrimmage intel from a non-insider who scoured the interwebz:
1. Holden looked best throwing.
2. Robby had impressive plays.
3. Both threw touchdowns. 1 to Shorter, the other to either Mardner or Hooks, mixed reports.
4. Thorne had barely misses (2).
5. Alston had 3 plays of 10+ yards, 1 of which he took to the crib from 50-60 out.
6. The offense was humming the first half & defense took over the 2nd half.
7. Huey opted for up tempo for the first half, slowed it down for the 2nd to see execution, obviously did not go as well.
8. Wanted to trim it down to 2 QBs, and had an idea of which 2 before the scrimmage. Saw some things that are making him 2nd guess.
9. Battie, even with turf toe, is explosive. Think he got several chunk plays.
10. Pass rush is much improved thanks to Sings and McLeod.
11. Larry Nixon outshined others creating negative plays.
I don’t know that I have ever been this excited for the season to start. Hopefully there is a justification by the product on the field when it gets here.
