You know they're going to hit. But so far, the starting pitching has been rough. We're only 5 games in, though.

We're not even one week in, and we have 2 starting pitchers on the DL after their first starts. We'd better hit.

Question: How do you like Chip Cary so far? I miss that guy. You had no question who was writing his paychecks.

Congrats on the sweep, brother!

As for Chip, I like him, but I'm not used to him. The guy he replaced, Danny Mac, has been there for years. I did like his "J-Bomb" nickname when Walker hit his first career homer yesterday. But I've been so busy with high school sports, I haven't had a chance to sit down and watch a Cards game start to finish yet. Cards also moved the TV color guy, Rick Horton, into the radio booth full time, so Chip's been working with Jim Edmonds in the booth, and Edmonds is no where near the announcer that Horton was, at least not yet.

I'm all about familiarity. I was bummed when it was announced Cary was leaving. A few years ago, they moved color guy, Joe Simpson, over to radio. Why? I loved those two together. I'm pissed that Stan White won't be in the booth. I miss Q on the sidelines. Andy Burcham is supposed to be in the locker room interviewing players, and giving Yellow Wood updates.

So far so good....need to keep the foot on the gas and demoralize the Nasty Mets and Phils. They know a 7-8 game lead isn't safe when they have one....so I can imagine their team psyche when they are that many behind.

Rays and Dodgers are killing it though. Dodgers pulled a few Braves like moves in the offseason (unloading dead weight and aging contracts) and they seem to be better for it.

The season is just getting cranked up. Some news and notes so far:

The Tampa Bay Rays are off to a 12-0 start. Great pitching/timely hitting. Small market team that always contends.

Speaking of 12, the Cheatin' Cards', Jordan Walker, all 6'6" 245 pounds of him, is off to a 12 game hitting streak to start his rookie season. Ties an 111 year record. Bro is from Stone Mountain, FUGA. The Braves aren't supposed to let that kind of talent out of their back yard.

On the Braves front, they took 3 one-run games from the Reds to get back on track, after the San Diego Father Figures came to town and made Truist Park their bitch. Now 9-4 and headed to KC.

More on the Braves. Not happy about the injury bug hitting early. Starting pitchers Max Fried and Kyle Wright, have both been on the IL, along with closer, Raisel Iglesias. Add to that list, relievers Tyler Matzek and Jackson Stephens. Also, starting catcher, Travis d'Arnaud and center fielder, Michael Harris II are out. Then, starting SS, Orlando Arcia, left the game after getting hit on the wrist by a pitch. He's day to day. Frick!!!

Was going back and forth with Jar and Buzzer about the Cubs upcoming schedule. Speaking of FRICK!!!!! 7 with the Dodgers, 3 with the A's out there, and 3 with the Padres. Ouch.

So far, I'm love, love, loving the new rules. The games really are flying by. More hits (That's my assumption) because those idiotic looking shifts are gone. Steals are definitely up, and I actually saw a player lay down a bunt the other night. A real bunt. Didn't know those existed anymore.

Back on the Braves: Marcel Ozuna is hitting .083 so far this season. Chop on!
