Top Five Christmas Songs (from artists you hate)
« on: December 18, 2022, 03:06:25 PM »
Christmas songs are a different animal.  Artists I typically don't care for (professionally or personally) I excuse for the season.  Here then, are my Top 5 Christmas Songs by Artists I Hate.

1. Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Bruce Springsteen
2. Happy X-Mas (War is Over) - John Lennon
3. Blue Christmas - Elvis
4. Must Be Santa - Bob Dylan
5. Mistletoe - Justin Bieber

And a few that aren't widely known but that I do enjoy:

1. Unwrap You at Christmas - The Monkees
2. I Believe in Santa Claus - REO Speedwagon
3. Cooler than Santa - Morris Day
4. it's Christmas All Over - New Edition
5. I Believe in Father Christmas - Emerson Lake and Palmer

Dude.

Lennon is/was a communist hippie freak. When it comes down to catalog, I’d take George and Ringo’s over his.

Elvis I just never cared for musically.  Just didn’t get what the big deal was.  Don’t really hate him.  But if I never heard him sing again it wouldn’t bother me.

I was told by Roger stone that he is kicking back relaxing off the island of Crete at the ripe old age of 88.

Greg Lake's Father Christmas is terrific in every rendition, even with Ian Anderson. The lamest if all Christmas songs that I have heard is Otis Redding's Merry Christmas Baby... got to, got to nah nah nah nah no! Turrible.
