I do wish the guy well and I hope Florida University Central wins another national championship. But this is just a continuation of the things he was doing here at AU, and one of the reasons I lost faith in the man years ago.
I'm the offensive jeenyus. I call the plays and we go fast, fast, fast.
I have too much on my plate, so I'm turning over the play calling duties.
We need a change at OC and I'm taking over the play calling.
I'm bringing in a new OC and it's his offense. I'm going to stand back and be the CEO
I realize I need to be more involved so I'm taking over the play calling....
I used to feel this way....and then I'm reminded of what he did. And what he left us with. And where we are now.
Harsin has been put so far behind the 8 ball that I question whether a solid coach like himself can actually dig out of this ditch. He def salvaged the 50th ranked class into a top 25 one with more kids left to sign but its going to be a monumental task rebuilding this mess. - He tanked our program in the trenches. Nothing more needs to be said here. The OT position is finally coming back to Auburn after a 7 year absence.
- His qb development is just as bad as we've ever seen from a coach in our lifetimes. How many bluechip 4 and 5 star qbs did this guy destroy. And not just lack of development but regression. Bo Nix is just another symptom of that.
- the constant mental basket case that he is/was like you said with the flip flop on play calling. The overthinking. The lack of identity. The lack of innovation. And worst of all these weird traits - the lack of accountability to know that HE was the issue, and thus the refusal to change. Its never
Gus, its always something else. Or someone else. Or some bullshit excuse. The guy just isn't a legit P5 HC. And still to this day at UCF, he hasn't accepted that. He thinks his way was right - still. Guy needs a shrink.
- He became a lazy recruiter. Kids within an hour of Auburn in the ESPN top 500 players list - had not even had contact from the Auburn staff until Harsin was hired.
- And the worst of all to me is he and Sexton concocted a damn lie to fleece Auburn U out of 50 million dollars. Leath bears responsibility too. But that's another conversation (I hope he tanks wherever his ass is too). It was deliberate and purposeful. And was done during the emotional high of beating 2 number 1s in a row in Nov/Dec of 2017..... Gus lost a little leverage after the Ga rematch loss thus the "Gus to Ark" rumors were put on steroids. Yeah, he got paid everyone says. Who wouldn't right? Wrong. He fucking lied. So did his agent. Arkansas never wanted his ass. And never will. A total fabrication by Malzahn and Sexton to artificially inflate his demand. F them both.
That doesn't exactly sound like a "swell, awww shucks" nice man to me.
