Who wants to talk football?  A whole lot of meh after the Iron Bowl drubbing.  But look at the bright side, just about everybody predicted that drubbing....and you were right. So there's that.  I honestly thought we could be more competitive, but reality set in hard after the first quarter.  And that reality was we were playing the #1 team on their turf, down our starting middle linebacker and a starting corner, playing with a back up left guard and back ups at both tackle positions after Nefarious Ham went out.  Add to that the fact that Bigsby was about 60% at best, and you have a recipe for a 30 point blow out.  Excuses?  Nah, I just thought if everyone was healthy, we could play with em' for a while.  We weren't, we didn't.

So this week, the #5 team in the nation comes calling.  I can't talk about it right now.

Bama @ LSU:  Payback is going to be a bitch.  Not sure LSU can score on Bama as they only scored a late TD on A&M.  Sound familiar?  This one is ugly early and often.

Bama:  52

LSU:  10

Vandy @ FUGA:  Why talk about this one?  Because fuck you Vandy for the stupid publicity stunt.  You've always sucked, but this is a new low.  Please complete your application to join the Sun Belt, asap. We should also talk about this one because.....well....fuck Georgia!

FUGA:  Eleventy Billion

Vandy:  Who Cares?

Texas A&M @ Auburn:  Regardless of the records, Auburn always seems to play this bunch tough.  As a matter of fact, Auburn has won the last three in a series that's tied 5-5 overall.  The Fighting Bonfire Boys have played well this season with the one blemish, no...big ole honkin' pimple in the center of their forehead....a blowout loss to the mahty Tahd.  They controlled the game against LSU in unimpressive fashion, winning 20-7. I still think we can play with these guys if we're healthy.  Unfortunately, we're not.  I believe Malzahn continues his streak of 4-5 loss seasons, even playing only 10 games.

Texas A&M:  28

Auburn:  21

Other news and notes sans the predictions, Go Gaytah travels to the Big Bowl of Cheetos.  Everyone keeps hyping the potential Gator/Tahd matchup, but Florida looks just above average to me.  Great weapons on O but they just don't seem to be explosive right now and the defense still sucks.  They'll walk in this one, though.  Liberty and Coastal Carolina also do battle.  Who would have thunk anyone would be interested in that score.  I am.  And it looks like Florida State's already shitty season is most likely done.  More Rona caused another cancellation this weekend and I believe the make up game against Clemson is all that's left. Doubt they play it. 2-6 for Corch Norv.

Anyway, engage is meaningful discourse but as always, wash your partner's hands with hot water and anti-bacterial soap prior to he/she giving you a hand job.

What in the world could the girl-kicker scenario do to piss you off?

It was a feel-good story, in a game no one expected Vandy to be remotely competitive.

Fuck's sake, some of you are crotchety as shit these days.

Here's my thing about it.  She warmed up kicking from the 3 or 4.  In what real football game scenario is that even possible?

And if you want a feel good story, that Point Guard for Syracuse WBB is much better.

The kick off that went about 25 yards was as far as she can kick it.  Plenty of people watching warm ups said she could barely clear the cross bar on an extra point.  She wasn't even close to the best available.  But I feel good.

Its all about the feels...

I knew a lot of male kickers who were pretty good that did not get the chance to kick the ball in an SEC game. Of course we didn't have gender choice back then...

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

She absolutely nailed the one play they asked of her: squib to the corner to eliminate return.

Are there men on the team that could do the same?  Absolutely.

This part I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally don't understand.  Yes, she gave a halftime speech to the team.  She has, in fact, won 2 SEC championships.  She is, unarguably, more accomplished as an athlete than any kid in that room.

My problem with it is two-fold.  First, if there were other players on the team who could have done better and have been out there busting their asses all season long, then she took someone's spot as a publicity stunt.

Second, is the fact that Vanderbilt is in the SEC and handles football as a joke, an afterthought.  Their stadium holds just over 39,000.  I believe it was only recently that they decided to have athletic directors again.  Going .500 and making the Depends Undergarments Toilet Bowl in Slidell, Louisiana means the program is headed in the right direction.  And now they have a girl take someone else's spot to "squib kick" it (No, that was all out) and get out of harms way for a feel good story.

Oh, and you're so fucking bad, your halftime speech is given by the women's soccer goalie.

Barefoot 'n pregnant, amirite?
Nope.  Not in the least.

All my kids are girls.  I don't have any predisposition toward "keeping women in their place" or any of that.  I want my girls to have the opportunity to achieve and be able to support themselves.  I don't want them to be dependent on a man.

But that doesn't mean I believe in this "unisex" bullshit.   Men's sports are for men.  Period.  Men and women are built differently for a reason (beyond the simple act of procreation).  Men are inherently better at some things than women are. It's just the natural reality some twerps and twats want to try to erase.

We are not designed to be equal in all things.

I don't want to see "trans" fuckers competing in the women's sporting events and winning, because it's an unfair advantage.  I don't want to watch twiggy fruity men competing in women's gymnastics.  I don't think men should be prancing around as majorettes (except at Texas A&M obviously).  And I don't think women should play football against men, baseball against men, soccer against men, golf against men.  I don't want women in combat situations in the military.

No, I don't celebrate a woman kicker who (according to what I saw here) failed miserably.

I've seen this shit at the high school level.  Coach I know very well and worked with tried it.  Convinced two girls to play.  One at WR one at TB.  They did the work, put in the practice.  They were NOT good at it, despite both being stellar athletes (basketball, track and softball primarily).  They didn't have the physicality and there was absolutely nothing that could be done to change that.  The WR couldn't stalk block. Try a running play to her side and whoever she was supposed to block was standing there waiting while she lay crumpled on the ground, pancaked (and the opposition was treating them with kid gloves).  She couldn't shed press coverage and despite being all state in women's track and field, didn't have the speed to get separation. Ever. Never caught a pass. Tried her on a reverse once and the LB two-hand touched her down for a big loss.  The girl at RB had a dad who agitated over and over for her to get playing time.  Finally did fourth quarter of a game they led by three TDs already. Her team had the ball on the opponent's 20 or so going in. First play the defense didn't know what to do so they just sort of hugged her until she stopped trying to run.  She gained four or five yards.  Their coach (and I agreed) was livid. If she's going to play, she's going to play.  Next handoff she got decleated.  Guy didn't really hit her all that hard but all 117 lbs of her flew about six yards in the air backward.  Landed like a wet sack of cement ($1 to Les Nesman). Let go of the ball as soon as she got hit but the refs felt sorry for her and spotted her down at the point of contact.  That was it for her.

Some things are for guys.  Some things are for girls.  That's just the way it should be.  I wouldn't want any of my girls -- no matter how athletic they were -- to try to compete with the boys in men's sports.  I don't celebrate it.  I don't "feel good" about it in the least.  Not pissed off, but fuck all that.  It's wrong. That entire way of thinking is wrong.

The 3rd string kicker for the local high school could do a better job than that. In fact they do. Snags is spot on. It was a publicity stunt. Why is it about just the feel good? It needs to be legit too. She is not. If she was then good for her. But she isn’t. She’s horrible. The best feel good stories in sports history have been from legit feats. This one - was not.
