I like it.

The big games are spaced out with (relative) breathers between.

Dislike not ending the season with Bama, but whatevs.

No doubt.  The spacing between FUGA, LSU and Bama is as good as you can ask for.

I would say I like getting FUGA that early with everyone they have to replace.  However, having to replace pretty much our entire O-line with guys who couldn't beat out last year's schleps, doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies about any game.

Saw this elsewhere but worth noting that every SEC West team plays some combination of Alabama and LSU back to back except Alabama and LSU.

It's not a conspiracy when there's this much proof.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

One month out...

What's the consensus here: do we have a season?  Do we have an abbreviated season?

Lincoln Riley just said that an entire position group got taken out by the virus...so they're missing all this crucial practice time.

I think the moneyed interests will force the matter...but will capitulate at some point.  3 game season.

Who wants the o/u on that?

Hate to think it, but I will take the under.  I honestly think 2 weeks in there will be postponement after postponement until they finally say fuck it...it's cancelled.

The current situation with the NFL is encouraging to me.  Saw a report last night that over the last few weeks, they had administered some crazy number of tests, something like 58,000, without one positive.  There were over 70 "false positives", which they confirmed were tainted tests.  Mmmm....taint.  Even though I'm sure the NFL is taking things a step further as far as being able to isolate the players, that's still a very positive sign to me.

Here's the thing.  I'm not sure what they're playing for, other than not losing money, of course.  You can't really have a playoff without two of the Power 5 conferences involved.  Well, you could but it wouldn't be the same.  But then, nothing's really the same right now.  You can't have a true Heisman winner without guys like Justin Fields in the mix.  To me, it's kind of like they're playing an exhibition season just to rake in that TV revenue.  I get it.  And the players want that exposure as well.

I think if the Rona hits a team or two, they'll handle it like MLB has been doing.  The Cardinals organization got hit hard by it and lost a couple of weeks of the season.  But they're back up and running and playing catch up.  I think if a team has to shut it down for a while, they just do and everybody else keeps playing.

Having said all that, I'm taking the over.

I know this sounds like a no-brainer, but the Nebraska AD came out and said every single AD in the Big 10 was wanting to play.  The problem is they're claiming that new Conference Commissioner, Kevin Warren, didn't relay that to the Presidents and Chancellors, and they went ahead and postponed the season.

I can't see Spring football working.  I don't see the point unless again, it's all about recovering some of the TV revenue.  But an argument I've heard many a talking head make, and one I agree with, is that having a Spring season is hippo-critical in that these administrators are always harping on player safety.  That's fine until you realize they're making these kids play a season of football in the Spring, and then go right back at it a coupe of months later.

New worry would be somebody going the route of Hueytown HS.  They played 1 game and announced they would cancel their next 2 even though they had no positive tests.
Just a coincidence their next 2 games were against Clay-Chalkville and Bessemer City (who would have both demolished the gophers)

Dothan's first opponent this year was supposed to be a team from Georgia, but they moved their season to a later start date.  So Dothan agreed to open up with Hooper Academy.  After a few days, the Coaches realized it was a typo and they were actually opening up with Hoover.  Mysteriously, one player contracted the Ronas and Dothan had to cancel the opener.

Darn, we really wanted to put something on that Hoover ass.  Hope the kid recovers.
