I mean this sincerely when I say I HOPE I can get that desire back.

It’s not just the pregame that’s driven me away though. I’ve put pregame antics away for some time now so I could get back to enjoying fantasy football. It’s much larger than pregame for me. It’s people being torn apart for supporting the national anthem. It’s players threatening to transfer because of a damn NEWS NETWORK tee shirt.

I just want things in the actual sporting event world to get back to normal and I just don’t see it happening.
They should just shut up and play, huh?

This isn't a liberal issue. Liberals are people whom I have some philosophical differences with but we can live, work, and discuss these civilly.

Leftists demand you bow to their will, kiss the ring of intersectionality, or gtfo. That's exactly what's happened to sports. Leftists took over.
Tomato tomahto. When the "good" muslims don't tell the extremists to stop, they are all the same.
I don't see any liberal stopping what happening.

In the arena in which I pay my money to be entertained, yes. Absolutely.

Actor has personal political beliefs that I don’t agree with but does a good job in a movie without forcing his political beliefs on me, I pay to watch.

Music artist has political beliefs in which I disagree with but doesn’t expose them to me at a concert while playing music I like,  I pay to attend.

Lawyer has political beliefs that I don’t agree with but does a good job of representing me without pouring out his political ideas in the process, I hire to represent.

I’m confused why athletes expect to be able to be paid by people, force those people to recognize their political beliefs but then have also have the right to cry foul, racism or even suggest people might be whining who decide to not spend their money there anymore.

Hell of a society we have created.

How, exactly are their views being "forced on" you?

Also, the flaw in these analogies is that once the whistle blows (or the previews start...or the trial begins....I'm intentionally leaving out concerts here because they aren't apples to apples) there isn't a venue for those views to be expressed.  Essentially, outside of the field of play, I'm indifferent to what they do.

MLB has started up. 1st day I try to watch the first inning (not the anthem for which most knelt) BLM banners in every stadium and BLM on the backs of the mounds. Essentially every camera angle for the entire game captures the image.  That’s political and it’s forced on people who aren’t tuned in to see it. In the field of play.

NBA will allow slogans on the backs of jerseys. In the field of play.

Being fair, college football has not announced (at least I haven’t seen) anything to suggest how they plan to commemorate the political activist group. Judging by the commercials already watched, players threatening to transfer and HIGH SCHOOL players saying they won’t consider college choices who have coaches who made no political statements or waiting too long....it’s not too hard to see how easy it will be to ransom their political views all around the stadium as people intend to simply watch a football game.

If they choose to do so and I believe they will, I’ll spend my fall and money outdoors.

On the other hand, if the paying spectators appreciate and want to see such a thing, then all is well. I’ll enjoy my time outdoors and others can enjoy their sporting events.

It's not about political party If you have bothered to read the OP, you would know that. It's about how nothing in life - NOTHING - is safe from divisive, one-sided political rhetoric meant to further divide the country for the purpose of exploiting the weak-minded.

Weak minded. Did somebody call me?

Been gone since basketball season was cancelled and it seems nothing's changed around here.

Got in a discussion about sports with a black friend and Auburn fan. Didn't know his politics but had my suspicions. We always had Auburn in common and the discussion went to the NBA which he said were still intending to play. I expressed my indifference with a ftnba and explained that I wouldn't watch again and he asked why and I told him.
He then went on an Old Testament tangent explaining that God brought the floods and that we were as a society being punished for our racism and there was nothing we could do about it.
My retort was that BLM didn't care about America, racism or even God for that matter and he then said America has always been about racism and that everything my leader says and does is racist bullshit.

I have to work around the guy so short of a shouting match I left it at that knowing there was no penetrating such a shell of discontent with our country and the bad beat he had obviously been dealt by being born a black American.
Seems he espouses the Obama belief that America was never great.

Been doing a little gardening and put up a fair sized above ground pool for the grandkids. Mostly stay close to home. That's how I've been handling it.

This is some of the whiniest shit I've ever read.

Make the first few minutes of the pregame your designated deuce-dropping time if you want to miss the egregious spectacle of kneeling.

Look in the streets. People are burning buildings, stealing property, shooting each other, pulling down statues and attempting to bully anyone who doesn’t agree with their stance. All for political reasons.  I’m simply choosing to no longer spend my money or time on sporting events for political reasons.

I think the snowflakes are fairly easy to differentiate.

Many in the streets of the northwest are a  mixture of college students, grads and school teachers. What value will they ever provide to any society going forward?
They think they are contestants in a video game/reality show.
Too bad most won't have to do any jail time.
Freedom and liberty take on a whole new meaning when you take it for granted and throw it away.

The main man! I thought you was dead, again. Happy to read you. Have missed the opportunity to decipher your codes.

should we miss on Mcquinstry at CB, I am holding you responsible for going AWOL.

re the African American gentleman that you interact with, you should not concern yourself with what he thinks about you. On a serious note, those that know you would know that there are numerous and various races and ethnicities that you hate much more than the blacks.

But you haven’t been around to notice the change that BLM, Antifa, peaceful protests and Wes have initiated in Kaos’ heart. I think that Kaos is close to being woke.

So, you may want to hang around here more often.

I mainly have problems with Muslims these days, the non-assimilating types. You come here and do the drill and I'm with you. Come here expecting a handout and I will throw you out a fucking innertube and give you a bottle of water.
Not sure where I stand with Malzahn on the whole BLM thing but safe to say if it has any lasting effects on the program I am done with it all and just becoming a full-fledged racist.
Missed nearly everyone here and look forward to antagonizing the hell out of you and the other 5 or 6 losers.

I'm not chest-beating or calling anyone out for a fight.  I know most of you and would do that to your face if I were inclined to fisticuffs.

I'm just saying that giving up a lifelong source of entertainment because of some peripheral shit that doesn't affect the game itself is some whiney assed, titty baby shit.

It does affect my enjoyment of the game.  It impacts my willingness to spend my time or money on it, because doing so implies my approval of causes and positions I do not, cannot and will not support.

I don’t waste my time or money watching Michael Moore documentaries because I disagree with him on deep fundamental levels.  Same with Trevor “I’m not even a citizen” Noah,  John Oliver, Seth Myers, Rosie or any of that ilk.

If the NFL, NBA, MLB, and yes .... even Auburn ... insist on embracing and enabling ideas and attitudes I find reprehensible then I’m going to find other things to do with my time than give implicit endorsement by attending or wearing their gear.  You’re going to find Wes that there are a lot more of me than you think.

I wouldn’t wear a South’s Gonna Rise Again shirt. Wouldn’t wear a Black Lives Matter one either.  One is deeply racist. I’ll let you figure out which.  I don’t support it, don’t want my money going to things that do and don’t want people assuming I support it by association.

So yeah.  Fuck them all.

A word of advice for you to take or leave. And I don’t give a fuck which, I promise.

But in the shit talking time, leading up to the altercation, never use the term “fisticuffs”. Do yourself that favor.

I come from a long line of shit talkers. As a matter of fact, my granddaddy told me that there is one thing that my family would not be outdid in and that is talking shit.

Now, if you are trying to convey the idea that you are a gigantic faggot, then yes, you should use it liberally. But if you are going after old fashioned and straight up shit talk, I recommend that you pretend to not be a big pussy. No, it does not always work. But that’s just what you’re supposed to do.
