Pffftttt....whatever, dude. You don't know because you didn't watch. Go back to every football thread from last year. Your standard post:
"I didn't bother with that. I was playing golf, yelling at minorities, arguing with the local government about a bridge tax, etc. I don't need football. It's all flawed and basic."
Blah blah blah.
Burrow's one year turnaround is nothing short of amazing. Boy can play. Now, he may get killed behind that swiss cheese line in Cincinnati, but no doubting how good he was last year.
FOH with these weak takes. Actually watch games again then comment.
They're serving dick and beans in the cafeteria. Try some. It's a two-for-one special so you can serve some to your ass buddy.
I didn't watch
much all of Auburn's games, that's entirely true. I didn't want to. I did, however, watch almost all of every one of LSU's games due to other people in my life who were glued to it.
It was nice. I was able to watch more or less dispassionately while they worried and sweated it out.
Burrow had a good year. Never denied that. One good year -- unless you're Cam Newton -- doesn't always equate to a successful career. I think he will do okay (said that). My only comment in his regard is that the NFL (and particularly in part because of where he's playing) he is going to get the cocky smacked right the fuck off his smug face. I stand by that. Not exactly a radical take.
Was it the "greatest season in college football history" as some would claim? Not in my book. What Cam did with less talent around him remains the benchmark. I don't think any player has ever dominated the game in the way Cam did. Tebow has a legit argument. So does Tommie Frazier. There are others. I just don't remember any of their names.
Tubular Topangabunghole isn't in that conversation. He's not in that neighborhood. He's not in that town, county, state, country, continent, planet, solar system or universe. He's not in any list of top SEC quarterbacks in history. For all your bleeding gash defense, he never did shit of any consequence in college. Five touchdowns against a pack of broken legged nuns doesn't mean squadoosh. On that I've been consistent since day one. And (as always) I will be proven right. Accept it.
** Edited to add:
You and your posse are wrong. I checked. I got frustrated and slammed Gustard frequently, but I weighed in (heavily) on the games fairly often. Some of them I didn't watch. Some I waited to catch pieces of in replays, but I kept up. Kept up enough to provide insight you won't find anywhere else -- and you're getting it for free, so keep that in mind.
I said on October 30 (you can look it up) that Gus would announce a new offensive coordinator that he'd "turn the offense over to." That was well before those tables turned. (hint, I was right).
I said Chad Morris wouldn't make it through the season at Arkansas about four games in (hint? Right again).
I said Dumbo Pisser was an overrated hack and a bad hire at TAMFU. Think that was gold, too.
My position on Twhoover Trucksacorona is clearly defined, extremely consistent and (as you will see) righter than fuck.
My take on Gus is also fairly consistent and (as you will continue to see) correct-a-mundo. I chose not to adopt the "well, we should accept who we are and be grateful" mouse-like philosophy some found more comfortable. Fuck Waffeupagus.
I said a lot of other things that were so dead on, they're frightening -- too many to list.
Did I miss a few? Sure. After LSU beat us for no reason I could understand, I expected them to lose two or three games before the season was out. Didn't see their epicness coming. I honestly (at that point in the season) expected them to shit the bed against A&M. Incorrect.
I said Will Muschamp wouldn't survive the off season. By some miracle that defies logic, he did.
