ESPN Game Day Observations
« on: October 25, 2008, 10:54:09 AM »
Okay, just sat down to catch a little Game Day and 3 things jumped out in the one segment I watched.

1. Huge AU flag waving in the background.

2. I just caught a quick glimpse of this but I swear I saw a Penn State guy with a shirt on that said, "2 Buckeyes, 1 Cup".

3. Lee Corso, yeah, I know...Lee Corso...RIPPED Ohio State.  He was dead serious when he said, "Somebody tell me what the hell is going on" in reference to OSU being rated 5 spots higher than USC.  He said USC is the only other team besides Texas and Bama to beat a top 10 team while OSU has beaten the likes of Youngstown, Troy and Ohio.  Herbstreet chimed right in saying you Buckeye fans can forget any thoughts of the MNC even if you beat PSU because you don't deserve to go.  Concentrate on the Rose Bowl.

Pretty cool stuff, I thought.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

4.  That story on Mark Richt's family and his adopted kids brought a tear to my eye.

As if USC deserves to be so high, above, say, Florida after getting smoked by Oregon State...

As if USC deserves to be so high, above, say, Florida after getting smoked by Oregon State...

I agree that USC gets a lot of love but I also think it's pretty well deserved.  We can debate strength of conferences and who USC has to play in the WACK 10, but they've built a hell of a program, play a decent OOC every year and you can't argue their winning percentage.  The SEC is firmly entrenched as the #1 overall conference and they've now been given plenty of love from the voters and polls with Florida getting their shot and a two loss LSU team having the red carpet rolled out.

Corso' point was how can USC have one loss on the road, play a tougher schedule and bitch slap OSU...but be ranked 5 spots below (In one poll) OSU when they've played the most laughable schedule on the planet?

Oh, I agree with that. Just using USC as a benchmark of excellence is what I object to. Why not use Florida?

Better yet, Tim Tebow is all you really need.  He just patented a new line of designer luggage made from the foreskins of Somalian babies.

I basically felt Corso was just turning his head and trading dicks. Next year he'll be on his knees turned toward OSU again. The sad part is that no other teams can seem to get in on the action.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
