I got one at South in the dorms.  Last semester she had two classes she had to physically attend.  Two. The rest were either online or she went once and they gave them a stack of online assignments to complete and turn in.

But we're soaked for a dorm room, a meal plan, the exercise facility, frisbee golf, the clock tower and so on.

Higher ed is a scam.
No doubt.  Books were always the biggest scam on the planet.  Wait....what?  This used text book is how much?  $90.00.  In law school, I could take 3 classes and easily be out close to $500.00.

We used to get my son a new back pack every year because he'd wear that thing out toting 125 pounds of books and stuff around.  His last two years of high school, he had exactly one book....a Chrome Book.  As long as it was charged, he was in business.  We bought him a new lap top when he started JUCO this year.  I doubt he'll ever have a real book his entire college career.

Growing up, my parents never knew how I was doing in school until I brought my report card home for them to sign.  That was always an event, but not always the best of events. Now, Snagette (because she's the one that keeps up with all that stuff) can clickity click a couple of times and then get on our son's ass about why he has a 70 in math this week or ask him if he's started on a paper due in a few days. I would have hated that but it probably would have made me a much better student having that accountability.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

More sports stuff.  Mike Leach is getting off to a hot start in Starkvegas.  Apparently, he tweety twatted something with a noose in it.  I didn't see it.  The AD made him apologize and Leach is going to have to do some of that sensitivity training stuff.  After the twat, two players have entered the Continuum Transfunctioner Portal thingy, including a starting D-lineman, Fabien Lovett.  The guy was a 4-star coming out of high school and checks in at a svelte 6'4" 330.

Hey Rodney, you might want to hit a brother up.  Mr. Brown left a huge hole in your line.

At least two teams have made the colossal error in judgement to deem Tweefa Turdinbologna fragile!

It's worth the read just to get to that nugget of gold where al.com ranks Jason Campbell as a "bust" draft pick.  dillshits.

Its seriously a Redskins QB thing. Go down the list the last 20 years. Lot of good QB otherwise went there to die. Look at what Kirk Cousins has done in Minnesota since leaving DC...

It aint the skins of Theismann, Rypien and Doug anymore.

I'm having one of those moments where I'm considering the entirety of it.

Is Mark Ingram REALLY worth $5 million a year when Bethany Ingram, who teaches science to your kids, only makes $38,000?  Fuck that Ewok.

I'm no Bernie Sanders. I wouldn't vote for that traitorous bastard or any of his "take it away and spread it around" sycophants if I had to.  I'm all for capitalism and the free market economy.  But I've reached a point partially because of this virus situation where I think we need to take a look at priorities.

What if the Braves DIDN'T spent over a billion dollars on Suntrust Park?  What if the city didn't fork over $400 million of that?  What if Atlanta DIDN'T pay $147 million in salaries this season?

What if they just shaved, say, 15% of the salaries off and contributed that to Atlanta area public schools?  That's an infusion of $22.5 million.  I think Freddie Freeman would avoid Food Stamps if he just made $19 million.  And I think he'd still play.  I think he'd play for $500,000 a year.  I know I would.  You could reduce ticket prices, put money back into the community and have their salaries actually be commensurate with the value they provide.

What if the movie studios simply stopped paying Chris Hemsworth $76 million?  You think he might still agree to play Thor for, say, a million?  If he didn't? Fuck him.  Then movie tickets could drop from $12 to $3.  Maybe more people would go see the damned things.  Or pay to rent them.  Or whatever.

Why should some moron who films himself acting like an idiot on some social media platform rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars?  Stop it.  Stop it now.

I'm not asking for a redistribution of wealth at all.  I'm more thinking in terms of a re-examination of what we, as a society, value and what we spend our money on.

I absolutely loathe the people all over social media who are quoting Revelations or claiming that this is some retribution for some behavior.  While I do agree that God sometimes gets tired of our antics and tries to set us right, and while I don't rule out that this current situation could be nature's normal, regular way of thinning the herd a little bit (it happens to all species) I just don't need to see any of that.

It does, however, give me time and quiet to think about all that.  You're welcome.

Chris Fowler said one of the plans he's heard floating around moves the college football season to the Spring 2021.

Let's think about that for a moment. That would effectively ensure that any of the top prospects for the 2021 draft would skip the season and enter the draft process since the college season would take place during the Draft. Unless the NFL is willing to move the draft to the summer which is highly unlikely.

It's not the worst idea if they cannot get Fall ball going, but it would certainly change things.

Im with K. The human race in this country has gone full on tard on the paranoia and pie in the sky predictions crap. Yes, take precautions. No, you don't wanna get this if you don't have to. Cancelling something in April that doesn't start until Sept? Most asinine shit I've heard yet.

Here's the problem, though.

The snowflake pussies in Oxford Mississippi have ALREADY canceled everything through August.  That means football practice, scrimmage, etc.

https://247sports.com/Article/Coronavirus-Ole-Miss-cancels-in-person-athletic-activities-through-August-1-145883966/

Unless the SEC office immediately tells them to quick tucking their dick between their legs and take the Kiffin whippings that are coming?   SEC already screwed.  If they don't let them even start practice until August, how the hell they gonna be ready?  Well, it is Ole Piss so what difference does it truly make?  Another few weeks going to turn that shit wagon into a Yugo?
