A fair assessment.
"It really hurt me during that time period, and now I realize that I was trying to help the team out more than I was trying to help myself out. Then when I was trying to help the team out with certain stuff, it wasn’t really working out for me."This quote really goes to the mentality of today's player as opposed to back when I was a young whipper snapper. Not dogging the guy for it. It's just the way it is and look, if you've got a realistic shot at playing on Sundays, you have to approach it as preparing for a potentially lucrative career.
Now having said that, the other part of the piece where he was down about losing his starting spot to TD Moultry....that just tells me you didn't take it seriously coming into last year. Moultry is not good. No way Coe playing close to his potential loses his spot to that guy.
