You have a point. And nobody really wants that mental picture more than once either.
On the dive note, I showed my sister your bookfaces dive pictures. It got her thinking about getting back into it. She was big into diving for years until about a year ago when she had an equipment malfunction and just about bought the big one at 60 feet. Really shook her up and she hasn't been since.
Funny...not funny.
My sister used to dive all the time also. She too had a device malfunction and thought she was dying. I think she was closer to 100 ft. Has not been back one time since! Not even an inkling of desire.
