Listening to our local sports talk show on the way in this morning.  The host is a former Bama beat writer.  And I quote:

"Nick Saban forced the rest of the SEC to get better."

The next caller:

LSU reminds me of a certain team on the east side of the state who had a season like this.  May as well have sprinkled pixie dust on em' cause everything that could go their way, happened for em'.

Host: Well now, LSU didn't have to have any miracle catches or 109 yard returns to pull out games.  They destroyed everybody they played.

Caller: They barely got by Bama.  Only beat us by 5 points.

Host: Bama scored a late TD to make it that close. LSU controlled that game from start to finish.

Caller: You and I both know if Tuer weren't hurt, we win that game easily. 

Host: Well, that's probably true but we can only wonder what might have been.

I'm just glad they beat Clemson, well whipped their ass.  It could have been worse.  Maybe Dabo will shut up for a while, but I'm not banking on it.   Great for Coach O.  I have always loved him.  He is funny to me.  I'd trade him for Gus today and probably throw in some boot as well.

I'll know whether Orgeron is like Chizik when his book comes out this spring.  I don't expect he'll do it, but if he takes all the credit (like Chizik did) then I'll know what he's about.  

Chizik's "All In" book was the beginning of the end for him, really.  If you've ever read it you know.  The dude was so completely lacking in self-awareness and humility it was pretty shocking.  Gave zero credit to any of the people who got him there.  Shined it all on himself.

I do not think they are alike in that regard - at all. O is humble. Loves his players. Loves his state. Does it all for them and holds firm to that. He's been humbled enough times in his career already. I think its made him who he is.

I would floored if he did something like Chiz.  I have never read his book. Too many people have told me how shitty it was so I stayed away.  I do have a little spare time to get a book read in so I may try it.
