Auburn could be without one of its top receivers against Oregon in Week 1.

According to reports, sophomore wide receiver Anthony Schwartz injured his hand in practice and could be having surgery. Brandon Marcello of Auburn Undercover originally broke the story Monday morning writing that Schwartz would need surgery after injuring his hand.  Jill Schwartz told AL.com that her son’s injury was being evaluated and they would know if he needs surgery by this afternoon.

News just came out that the Ducks lost a starting wide receiver as well.  Copycats.

Per OregonLive.com, senior Brenden Schooler will be out for 6 to 8 weeks as he recovers from a foot injury:

“He’s not only a great player, he’s a great leader,” Oregon coach Mario Cristobal said. “I feel terrible for him — we all do. Tremendous human being, off the charts, means a lot to the guys out there. Knowing him, he’s probably trying to squat and run today. He will try to get them back as fast as he can. He will, because he’s that type of guy. He’ll be around because his leadership is going to be needed, his mentorship in that room will be needed. Certainly, it’s a tough one to take because of what he means to this team.”
