Well....just boot for me. I didn't get to go to the Planes this year for the game and last night was the first time I caught it on the SEC's. Since we're only a few weeks away from Fall camp, some quick observations.
QB: I thought Nix and Goatwood were equally productive. The one thing that worries me about Gatewood is that it looks like he throws his deep ball just like a 15 yard crossing pattern. Every throw looked to be on a rope and he missed several deep balls because of it. Nix seemed to get the whole touch thingy.
RB: I feel a little better about that group now. Boobs showed a couple of good bursts of speed and DJ Williams looks SEC ready right now. That kid looks like he's gonna' be a ballah.
WR: Sal caught a ball. We good.
Worst to Best: The network cutie on the field was trying to get some insight from Malzahn. I honestly don't think the man is capable of mustering up more than 3 phrases of coach speak in any situation. Then she runs over and puts the mic in front of Mr. Pearl. Like I said, worst to best.
It's a spring game so I don't use it as any indicator of how we'll do. However, if one of those QB's step up, I think we'll be better than most are predicting, which ain't much. Even Phil Steele says we're really talented, but the schedule is just too brutal.
