It’s pissing on my daughter’s childhood.

Was her favorite Disney movie. Watched it thousands of times.  Stupid as that probably seems to you, it’s meaningful to me.  Who doesn’t want to be their daughter’s Triton?  

This is like casting David Spade as Shaft.  Or Pete Davidson as Black Panther. Or Jim Gaffigan as Malcom X. Or Mark Ruffalo as Martin Luther King.  Or Chris Rock as Thor.  

But it’s more than the cartoon.  It’s this idea that you can stick minority actors into roles they don’t fit — I’m sorry, no disrespect to anyone but James Bond isn’t black. Can you imagine?  What are you drinking, Mr. Bond?  Schlitz Malt Liquor. Bottle, not draft. You can do that and people applaud. But when a white person does anything it’s decried as cultural appropriation. 

So allow me to reiterate.  Fuck. Disney. Fuck this whole cultural-centric bullshit.
