From the "nothing new under the sun" file.
Paramount is rebooting Fletch. And they're trying to force-feed us that Jon Hamm putz in the role. He might have been good in Mad Men. I wouldn't know, I never watched it. But he's been absolute shit in everything else I've ever seen him in. He has no presence. Just complete bland flatness. Even in the Progressive commercials he's got nothing. Dull, lifeless, zero.
He's no Fletch.
The trailer looks abysmal. His lack of energy and charisma drains every scene.
There are so many other actors who could have made this palatable: Depp, Downey Jr., Deadpool, Hader, TJ Miller, Clooney, McBongohay, Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Woody Harrelson, Loki, Steve Carrell, Wahlberg, Bateman, Jesse Pinkman, Channing Tatum, Sam Rockwell, literally anybody. But in their infinite wisdom, they trot out Oatmeal Affleck?
I'm not opposed to restarting Fletch necessarily, but this looks like a flaccid turd.
