It’s graduation time and that means celebration for many university students who are enjoying the fruits of their labor.
Not everyone who starts college finishes, however. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the six-year graduation rate – meaning the number who completed their degree within that period of time - for first-time, full-time undergraduate students who began seeking a bachelor’s degree in fall 2010 was 60 percent.
The federal education report card shows four Alabama universities exceed the 60 percent national average: Auburn University, Samford University, The University of Alabama and Birmingham-Southern College.
Here’s every Alabama universities ranked by graduation rates. The list includes public and private four-year institutions in the state:

2. Samford University – 74 percent
3. University of Alabama – 68 percent
4. Birmingham Southern College -67 percent
5. Selma University – 55 percent
6. University of Alabama – Birmingham – 53 percent
