What err'.  Tonight is the 30 for 30 on The Nature Boy, Ric Flair.  I will be watching.  I'm a rasslin' fan from way back and it doesn't get any better than Slick Ric.  Saw an interview with him this morning and he was asked how far removed his character was from his real life personality.  He said they were pretty much one and the same.  Stylin', profilin', jet-settin', Rolex wearin', party all night.  A couple of guys I know went out and partied with him one of the times he came to the Circle City and they said that was the absolute truth.  And if he saw a hot girl, he was very likely just to whip out his dick and show it to her.

Great show.  Bottom line is this guy was 100% committed to the Wrestling lifestyle and what he made of it.  With the planes, limousines, women, money etc.  Everything else be damned. But we ate it up and loved it.  And he sacrificed all to live the life and provide the entertainment for all the fans.

I went to bed after it was over going "wow...just, wow".

I went in excited, expecting to get some laughs, nostalga and get amped during. But, it was sad for some weird reason. It was sad that he totally abandoned his family, that he needed that constant attention going back to being adopted and his parents being squares, and always needing a party every night. He has paid the price now in mental anguish. Especially when his son - feeling much the same way as Ric did with his parents, that no accomplishment was never enough - died/OD'd in 2013.

I was NOT expecting that to be what it was about. It was the same feeling I had after watching the one about Marcus Dupree, or Tommy Morrison. Just a sad story in general. We - as fans - just never knew it. Color me a little surprised on this 30 for 30. Well done ESPN. This is what they need to stick to doing. Because they suck at all else they do.
