There was a time when our favorite son Pat Sullivan was busy leading a TCU program to a 7-4 record which nobody else had done for decades. He had previously labored under Dye as the O.C. but had moved on to rebuild a perenial loser to respectability.
Meanwhile the Auburn program was slowly wilting into the abyss and eventual probation by which Dye was forced to step down.
Terry Bowden took the reins and the team responded by going 13-0.
Some might call it providence or just dumb luck. The cupboard was far from bare but there was a losing attitude lingering throughout the ranks that had to be exorcised. Anyway, Tot hung a shingle, changed the mantra and we got some keen graphics.
It was nice while it lasted.
They developed a great AttitUde and had the AUdacity to beat Florida and bammer. They really had Something To Prove.

Now I may be an idiot, but there is one thing I am not, sir, and that, sir, is an idiot.
