Trust me I would not have posted the top 25 one if I didn’t already know. Between 2001 and now they’ve played ranked teams just about every year. Sometimes more than one. I’ve yet to see a ranked team on ucf schedule.

Just saying you cant compare the two. Boise did the needful and played with the big boys for almost two decades. They didn’t always win those but they won their fair share of them.

There are a lot of mid major teams that will up and beat you if you're not motivated to play.  See UCF/Auburn.  See Troy/LSU.  Honestly, I watched just about the entire Temple vs. UCF game and it was damn entertaining.  A lot of speed. A lot of great athletes.  Two QB's that AU would probably kill to have...but would most likely ruin.

But as color commentators, Gene Chizik and Dusty Dvorzchkzekak said, UCF's Strength of Schedule is 127th out of 130.  And, as entertaining as these two teams were, the trenches are where both these teams would get pimp slapped, having to face Power 5 front 7's week in and week out.  Just wouldn't work.  As Gene and Dusty said, they could surprise somebody every now and then, but....

At the end of the day, all the commentators had a hand in saying UCF couldn't hang.

The vacuum caused by Miami's failure was first noticed in the startup program of USF under Leavitt who went 7-12 against top 25 teams before he was dismissed. USF soared to number 3 after beating Auburn rather handily before losing badly to a Belotti coached Oregon team in the Sun Bowl where Chip Kelly was in his first season as o.c.

That vacuum is still there in central-south Florida with UCF coming to prominence under Frost.  That void is further magnified by a shitty FSU program that has bottomed out in a terribly weak ACC.

Yes, there's room for up and comer programs to thrive in talent laden Florida with 8-0 UCF and 7-1 South Florida filling the void.
The two will close their regular season's on 11-23. South Florida has a tougher road having to play at Cincy and at Temple in successive weeks.

I was so impressed by the overall conditioning of the UCF players.  I started looking up some of the exercises they do to stay in such peak physical condition.  Amazing.

I didn't get any dislike of UCF from Chizik (he used to coach there), seemed like he just didn't buy the hype due to their shit regular season schedule.

Looks to be more mental which is at the heart of our problems and Gus not having our team prepared.

I think the announcers have to at least talk about it, especially when UCF has "2017 National Champions" up in bright lights in the stadium.  But I also think Co Chiz and company were pretty straightforward about how unrealistic that is. 

But hey, even if it's negative talk, here we all are talking about UCF.  Any publicity is good publicity....unless you're Maryland right now.
