I thought the guy made every throw he needed to in just about every crucial situation.  I knew coming in that LSU was every bit as talented as we were.  The recruiting rankings the last few years bear that out.  I just thought we had the edge at QB and a more physical and active front 7.  Both turned out not to be the case.  Add to that, the mistakes and play-not-to-lose offensive mentality and it became a dead even match up.  That's what pissed me off so bad about the officiating.  Regardless of how we played overall, the defense played more than yuugely gooder enough to win and had it snatched from them there at the end with 2 bullshit calls on crucial plays.

But, the good news is my counselor says with some additional sessions and staying consistent with my meds, the eye twitch and spontaneous/involuntary cussing spells should mostly clear up within a few weeks.

I know this is blasphemy, but I hope Bama beats that ass into submission.  Not because I hate A&M.  Just want them to lose all hope from this point forward.

No consoling. Giving credit where due. LSU's 3rd and 4th down converting % was insane considering a lot of time they were in that position with more than 6+ yards to go. Burrows continually made the play in those situations.
I don't know that I would call 8 -20 (3rd down) and 1-2 (4th down) insane.

Because IMO Burrow didn't have a good game.  He had a good 1st quarter and a great 4 mins of the 4th quarter.  I blame Auburn because we lost that game more than Burrow beat us.

Take a look at the LSU depth chart and you see a couple of seniors on the entire team. including Brossette.
Lawrence, the DE probably leaves as a Jr.

The guy is 40ish% for the year. Worst in conference. He just hit the right ones sat. Or got a PI. He didn’t lose them the game. He didn’t turn it over. I’ll give him credit there. I can’t say the same for stidham.

I give it till TAMU before the masses start calling for Stidham's head. Might even happen by the State game. It's the favorite thing for fans to blame when shit goes bad.

Unless Cord comes in and looks like Tom Brady, I don’t think anyone really wants to see what is next in line!
Now would I like to see a couple of plays a game with Willis? Sure. Let’s see if a few option plays work.

We tried those and our guy threw picks.

Again, you guys aren't giving credit where due. Dude played a damn good ball game.

I don't understand why some of y'all would rather put Auburn down than to admit that Burrow had a good game.
Burrow made zero reads.  He had one option and then a check down.

He played hard, I'll give him that.  But unless I'm wrong you're going to see over the course of the year that he's a shit QB.  He looked like dirty goose turds against Southwest Southeast Louisiana Tech Monroe because they got a little pressure on him.

I'm not putting Auburn down.  I'm denigrating the persistently pathetic decisions our $49 million man makes.  Remember when he said he'd learned and we'd keep our foot on the gas?  Well why did his butt pucker when we got ahead?

Let's look at every drive after taking a 21-10 lead.

1. Three plays one yard.
2. Two short passes, two runs for a total of one yard, INT on 3rd and 8. (The second incredibly shitty effort by Stidham who underthrows the route by at least five yards)
3.  Whitlow run, complete pass, penalty. Incomplete, three yard loss, scramble for eight. Long ass, laces out field goal. Miss.
4. Five plays 11 yards
5.  This is the WORST to me.  They're within two. 8:00 left.  Couple of first downs and it's probably a win.  HOLDING.  Run, run, run.  Punt.  Give them the ball with 5 left.

Every bit of that was unimaginative, low risk, zero reward "oh hell, my asshole is burning, what can we do not to lose?" thinking.

After a couple of early passes, we ignored the middle of the field again.

Or at least that's how it felt to me.

It’s almost as if we make a mistake on a play, we can never come back to it again. Slant to Davis, he drops it, don’t try again. Long pass to Davis. Overthrown, don’t try again.
And Stidham is beginning to look like White on the long pass. Just a bit too long...

Which is another thing I have stated all along. Penalties absolutely killed Auburn in fourth quarter.

I'm not taking up for Gus. He frustrates the shit out of me.

But it was a group effort on Saturday with the play-calling, penalties and turnovers, coupled with Burrows doing what he needed to do to win the ballgame.

We also got back into the habit of throwing the deeeeep route when it's third and manageable.  I really hate this offense that we run.  I miss the OC Gus, he was creative.

Speaking of bets, anyone notice that Bama is favored by 26 over The Fighting Bonfires?  To be fair, since Johnny Foosballz was running rampant in Brunt Danny a few years back, it has seemed like that game has always been over by half time.  But they held Clemson in the mid twenties (Not that Clemson is scoring machine) and should have won that game.

Unfortunately, I watched a good bit of the Bama/Ole Landsharks game and the Tahd looked downright scary.  Granted, The AckBears are positively putrid on D.  But, every play Bama ran looked like a hot knife through buttah.  If my Chizad math is anywhere near correct, that's an almost 4 touchdown spread.  Is that too many points?

Should be too many if basing it on about 37 minutes of last year's game where TAMU was hanging tough. They eventually tired but it was respectable at least for a little over a half.

As much as it pains me to say this, I really don't see anybody on their schedule staying within 3-4 touchdowns of the Fighting Tuers.  That includes our jetsetting offense.
