Week 2 & Thoughts On SEC Week 1
« on: September 05, 2018, 11:05:00 PM »
Saturday should be a chance to work on the running game and give Malik Willis some reps with the read option in real time.  No excuses against The Sting, who barely scraped by Tuskegee.  Handle your business and get some young guys in.

Looking back on the SEC last week though, I think the conventional thought is that the SEC West is "back".  Saw an article on the dot  I am a gay twerker that has no balls!!!!  I also have no idea how to use the quote function to post stories, so I annoy the piss out of others.  I like male genatalia in and around my mouth. saying this will be Malzahn's biggest test to date because it looks like everyone in the West is legit.  It could be.  The Tahd rolled.  Auburn beat #6 Washington.  LSU pimp slapped The U.  MSU steamrolled Stephen F. Austin.  Ole Miss easily handled Texas Tech and Arkansas pounded Eastern Illinois.  But...

Not so fast, my friend.  Bama's gonna' Bama. Especially with the greatest QB ever to suit up at any level. I'm not going to take anything away from LSU, but the reality is that highly overrated Miami finished last season with a loss to mighty Pittsburgh.  Then, Clemson stole their lunch money and made them do their homework (38-3)  Then Wisconsin handled them easily in the Bowl game.  So Miami is currently on a 4 game losing streak.

MSU whipped SFA in impressive fashion.  That's great.  Anyone checked out SFA's results from last year?  That team was fucking awful.  Got drilled by teams I'd never heard of.  Same with Arkansas' opponent.  Eastern Illinois was losing just about every single week to 6A high schools.  Pitiful program.  As for Ole Miss, as I believe K said earlier, their QB and receivers looked quite good.  But let's face it, TT gave up 40+ five times last season and 35 two other times.  They're known for shootouts, not defense.  And I believe their QB went out early in that game if I'm not mistaken.

The West may be damn stout.  Time will tell.  But, I'm not reading anything into week 1.

None of those wins or games surprised me at all.  I still think we win all of our SEC West games coming into Amen Corner.

Not following you on the week 1 mentality thing.  I said:

Defense was awesome.

O-line was suspect but much better than 11 sacks against Clemson this time last year.

Stidham looks like it's either the first read or he holds the ball too long...but made some good plays with his legs. I may be wrong about that but that same sentiment has been echoed by many.

Malzahn still too involved.  That one I was wrong about.

So....?

We played a top ten defense and we have an unproven offensive line.
Go back and watch our line play.

Stidham was flushed many times and it happens less if we can run the ball effectively. It's why we stalled in the redzone.

And CCTAU is dead-on about our backs learning patience.
We'll improve!

I agree completely.  We're not as offensively-challenged as UW made us look.  Their defense is pretty stout.  Prepare to be underwhelmed this weekend, cuz it sounds like they're just going to work on the run game and OL communication.

If we can have the same offensive success (relatively speaking) against LSU as we did against UW (I think their defenses are similarly skilled)...we win big.  LSU's offense is light years worse than UW's.

This place is hanging on by a damn thread.  You are the jerkstore that normally starts one, but I'll do it again.

Everyone realizes the NIP was never called this year so there's that too.

I don't know why I even bother anymore.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."
