Have been cleared for full practice.  Might see them after LSU game.  Possibly before but doubtful.

Saw that too! Of course GM with his coach speak but these boys already know the offense. Get game ready coach!

Pretty much the long and short of it...:sneer:

I understood the coachspeak as mid season but getting a legit deep threat and and a jet sweep/ short option guy is just what we need. Stidham comfy with these two.
Also, timing might be just right to shelve a couple of true freshmen for redshirts.

I just read where John Broussard, reserve defensive back has left the program this week.  Evidently, he was a 4 star that played in 8 games as a freshman (2016).  I know, "who?". But in my opinion, our secondary looked pretty bad against Washington.  #13, I think (guy with cast) was getting owned every time they threw it his way.  Washington saw that and kept going at him.  So, was this Broussard kid just that bad, or just a prick with a bad attitude?  Because he couldn't have been any worse than cast man.

3rd year in program and barely breaking the 2 deep. Getting beat out by true freshmen. So yeah.

And no. He’s a Good kid. Smart. But never adjusted to the speed of the game.

IMO, I think Broussard was just overmatched at this level.  He's not very big and in a scrimmage I went to (I know one practice means squat) he got Neiko Thorpe torched two plays in a row, then ran off the field and sulked on the bench.  I can see him thriving at a place like Troy or some place similar.  That's my expert analysis....from the same guy that thought Jeremy Johnson would set records at AU.

Correct ^^ the speed of game adjustments frustrated him. He never really caught up.

He’s a super smart kid. Very good kid. Both parents were military. He will do fine post auburn.

He's not very big
I heard this was also a factor, he was like a 150 lbs soaking wet.  Couldn't put weight on.

#12. Jamel Dean. The guy who is considered one of our top young DB's? Had an INT?

I imagine it is a bit difficult to play with a cast. But he about par with the rest of the DBs.

Contrary to Broussard, I don’t have any problem with this.

Neither does Token’s fat ass.

I thought Broussard was listed at 179.
Doubt his weight caused him to quit because he was gonna play a lot as was McBryde.

Holy shit, I'm too light...I quit!:poke:

He was listed at 179 but from what I read that was BS.  He was having a hard time putting on the weight.

So. Back to Stove and Whitey.

Is it really a good idea to bring them back early? Who really recovers that quickly. And will they be back to full speed? I definitely do not want to see them hurt again.

But then thinking about it, if JS has a really good season, he's gone. Then who will throw to these guys next season. So they figure they better get back now, or its over.

Hopefully they both can contribute in big ways.

I know it was 3+ weeks ago but at practice, Stove had a big knee brace on and while he was running okay, you could tell he wasn't near 100%.  Didn't see Hastings at all. Stove is a junior and Hastings a senior.  Maybe that plays into their decisions to try and play or not.  Is Hastings close to graduating?  He might say, screw it, I'll play all I can this year and move on.
